Most fast epoxies use Mecaptans to accelerate them. Here is a quote from an epoxy site. "The Drawbacks Thus, the polymercaptans offer some unique properties. The key limitations in using mercaptans are odor, skinning, and heat-deflection temperature. We have made progress in the area of odor...

    Another National tournament question

BCA National Don't have my booth number, but I'll be there 23 to 27 for sure. Stop by and say hi. Chudy, Gilbert, Treadway, Durbin, Robertson, Blackcreek(Travis), and I should all be in a row. Always great to talk to other cuemakers.

Will this K2 CNC do the job? - cue making

Theoretical machine tolerances and actual part tolerances are different beasts. I'll not be taking your bet.

Will this K2 CNC do the job? - cue making

Not to digress to far, but .0001 for 7k. Maybe in a straight line, but circular under load and at a reasonable speed. That I'd have to see the reciepts to believe. Oh yeah, testing with a indicator doesn't count, let's talk laser and reninshaw ball. .0001 is way more than you need to build...

Will this K2 CNC do the job? - cue making

K2 The machine has several feature that I like. Linear rails (square), ballscrews, and servo's. I don't like that all the rails are uncovered. I don't know much about their controller, so I would ask lots of questions about it. Especially about tech support. You want to stay away from...

    Finishing Methods...

Spot on. They also tend to shrink. The fast finish is done by having the top of the finish skim over. Shrinking isn't a big deal on a car. With any finish there are trade offs. You have to pick what works for you. Also, beware finish advice from people whose finishes and techniques haven't...

    Plugging and Re-tapping a shaft

Then who ever did it, didn't do it right. The out side of the shaft doesn't change and it's against the face of the cue. Most shafts have phenolic collars and that's not changed at all. Maybe the shaft wasn't faced correctly after the repair. The repair should be unnoticeable.

    Piano laquer

Piano lacquer I've done a few restorations with nitro lac. Lots of coats and lots of drying time. Need a good spark proof environment. Very slow build. I see no advantage to it, except to be period correct.

What is a "Center Cut" Shaft?

I was just being polite for a change. I've had low ring count shafts that were very stiff, and high ring count shafts that were noodles. Bob is Bob and part of the pool experience. I've heard the term used before, but have no idea what it means.

    Rotary table for sale
