Is Predator's move into every aspect of pro billiards really a good thing?

Yeah, that's true for sure. I guess it is kind of dumb question I have asked, now that I think about it. But, did they really have to put the little angry cat faces on the balls? Hahahaha... 🤣

Is Predator's move into every aspect of pro billiards really a good thing?

So, from top sponsorships, to cues, to racks, tables, balls... now entire tournaments that sport ONLY their products? It seems they are now attempting to establish a monopoly over every aspect of the sport of Pro Billiards? But is this really a good thing?

SJM at the 2024 Derby City Classic

Speaking of Derby City, who is this kid on the table behind Shane at the 2025 Mini-Derb? I am sure someone here knows. He is so young, yet seems a really strong player. He certainly keeps strong company. 😲

    Fargo Match.... 679 vs 851

The old guy that I love watching most is Tony Drago. I actually think Filler modeled his style after Tony, at least a little bit. There are some old matches where you can see a very young Josh and Pia, front-center row watching him play. :)

Is Mezz done or something (2025)?

I love pool... harsh mistress though it is. So, upsurge of demand because the sport is doing better than anyone thought possible Were it true, I would thank God.

Is Mezz done or something (2025)?

Everything out of stock, everything gone. MezzUSA and even JJ ? Never seen this in 6 years. I wonder what is the deal...

    Anyone have a Segen?

I bought that S23 from Brian a few months ago :) I love it, but... it is taking a while to warm-up to me and feel the same. Yet, I find the feel on the table is totally addictive, no matter how much it makes me miss. :) LOL

8 Ball Break - Hitting the 2nd Ball

You have to start his break from the far outside. pretty near the rail. And it needs to be outside low, same as the side you are breaking from. Enough to bring the cue ball back up table to center table off the rail. Say... 1-tip low, and about 1/2 tip outside. Now, with a super hard hit and...

    Segan Cues - Joint/Thread size?

No it's all good. Appreciate your reply. Sure, I know it is a unique design, basically a slightly smaller version of a standard radial ball thread. It is the same TPI as a standard 3/8-10 Radial, like predator or anyone else uses, but it is a smaller dia. Instead of 3/8th inch (.375), it is more...

    3/8 × 10 versus radial pin opinions

Naw, there isn't anyone. but its ok. There are some folks a few hours drive away I think.

    3/8 × 10 versus radial pin opinions

Oh, my - I did not know he was gone. I had no idea. I only started playing again a few months ago. Too many gone... 'tis the way of things I guess. Still, doesn't seem right. A few years, and everything changes.

    Segan Cues - Joint/Thread size?

Interesting. Yeah, I know - much ado over nothing really. Sorry about that part. I am definitely buying some spare shafts, that's for sure. :) But, is that even the correct way to count the threads?

    3/8 × 10 versus radial pin opinions

Well, it is 6 years later now. But, since your ARE the man: Any idea what Evan Clark did on his Segan cues? All I know it it is a 'modified radial thread'. It appears to be around .328 (21/64 inch?) outer dia and 10 TPI, ball-type thread. At least I think it is 10 TPI. Hell, I just want a set...

    Segan Cues - Joint/Thread size?

Ah, so it is 10 TPI after all. With 1/2 inch marks lined up exactly on the valleys, there are 5 peaks exactly spaced. So 10...

    Segan Cues - Joint/Thread size?

Wait, so you do count every peak as "1-thread"? first peak to second peak is not "1 complete thread, not 2? It is exactly 5 peaks per 1/2 inch. Heh, been along time. And to think, I used to make the Thread Masters. lol

    Segan Cues - Joint/Thread size?

Yeah, I noticed that too. But, for a joint protector it may not matter if it is a bit smaller, although that is quite a bit. Guess I'll find out. Just spoke to Samsara Cues - they have a Radial and Uni-Loc quick release (looks like a QR Pin) - but, no joint protectors available in stock; and no...

    Segan Cues - Joint/Thread size?

Yeah, just got a reply from Brian at J&J Cues: It is a modified 3/8-8 Uni-Loc Radial. He says that is all he knows about it. Perhaps a 3/8-8 Uni-Loc radial? How it was modified, this is not widely known I guess. May never be known, exactly. I had initially measured the TPI incorrectly at 10...

    Segan Cues - Joint/Thread size?

Ohhhh... ok, so not so simple maybe. I did do some research prior to your replies (which I really appreciate by the way!) Thread peak to peak, I do count exactly 8 complete threads per 1/2 inch, which may be hopeful. But, that's just eyeballing-it. Seems pretty exact though, 5 peaks exactly...
