Comebacks: It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over. Let's Hear them!

I played in a 10 ball ring game tourney in Atlanta once, where the format was everybody(I think that there were 25 players on 4 tables) got 10 chips. They started the "blinds" started at one chip, and I lose the first 9 games, only getting 1 chance to get out. On the tenth game, they raised the...

    For anyone thats been there

Yeah, I have to say that is waaaay below par for the medium to big hotel/casing scene out there. I had always stayed there because of ease of getting to matches, but anyone who rates it over 5 or 6 on a scale to 10 is crazy, imo.

    Custom cues

Actually, they typically are. Most of the high-end makers are considered high end due to the overall quality of their cues. And they ALL only have one job. The biggest thing that they all have in common that you haven't hit on is resale value. Even in these times, high end cues tend to hold...

Asking to gamble on tournament matches

Great post. It shouldn't ever offend or shark anyone to be asked(at least, it has never sharked me), and a "no" is an easy answer to give.

HAs anyone seen the movie "kisses and caroms"?

    G-10

I hope you love it. The majority of people that I know really liked it. I suppose it doesn't hurt that the majority of cuemakers who use it are rally good to begin with:)

    G-10

The G-10 pin is a composite resin. It looks like plastic, but I believe the make-up is actually more similar to glass. Sorry, not being a chemist, I don't actually know the components. It has a different hit(and completely different look) from pretty much anything else. Some like it, some don't...

    Is this a JOSS cue??

You have to click the link. The cue in question does have a ss joint. The one pictured in the thread is for comparison purposes on the ringwork on the joint collar. I still agree that it is most likely not a Joss.

Asking to gamble on tournament matches

Bingo. To any detractors, you guys probably haven't been around a whole lot of high level pool. And if you don't understand that your potential to win x amount of matches, and only lose two, is nowhere near the same thing as walking into a casino with $50 as per your post, then you obviously...

Asking to gamble on tournament matches

Another thing you guys are not taking into account is that it is pretty good odds. You can only lose two sets in tourneys, where as you can win a heck of a lot more(assuming you aren't playing in a 4 man tourney, lol). If youi are any kind of decent player, the math isn't hard. This is actually...

How Did You Jump To The next level?

Using a vertical leap. I found the long jump to be useless for going up levels;)

Need help finding a video I saw on here

Hey easy, I actually found it the other day. You were right, it is an absolute classic. The Heinz was a good 'un too. I am kind of curious as to the how/why that hustling vid was made.

    News coverage of T-rex?

I figure that is the reason, I just wish that pool people would treat it like any other sport, you know? I think the time for kid gloves is long past. If we continue to sweep things under the carpet, don't we create(to a degree, at least) the same type of double standard that we have been trying...

    News coverage of T-rex?

I know that the forums are usually the best place to find real news. I just think it is sad that I never saw one iota of coverage on ANY pool site(other than forums, of course).

    southern state pool halls

I have spent my entire life living in AL, GA, and MS. The decent rooms(or at least the ones that survive) keep the ac on. The humidity is every bit as bad, if not worse, than the heat, when it comes to pool.
