Post Cataract surgery and missing balls, 18 months later

My wife came home one day and she started crying and said she had to have cataract surgery. I said people have it done all the time. She said it'll be $8K Cdn and I said so no biggie get it done. She had it done and that was at least 3 years ago and her eyesight is good. I find myself needing...

    Funny pic/gif thread...

In HS auto shop the teacher had a VW bug and he brought it in for a tuneup. Back then you could fill it up for $3-4 as gas was cheap . A few of us chipped in for at least 2 weeks and kept topping off his tank. He was saying after the tuneup the gas mileage was great lol. We started siphoning...

    Dufferin table any good?

I looked for a used GC and didn't find one here in eastern Canada and wasn't spending $17K Cdn for a new one. I opted for a Black Crown ( used) and happy with my purchase.

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

I went thru the big C treatment and know about being weak and fatigued. I found getting the 9ft and playing pool has helped by getting me active and off the couch. I'm not sure about being up to speed on my break but know that snap sounds good and the CB is getting a headache lol

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

They have a 10-ball break draw at the Predator Tour here and the lucky person gets a shot at breaking. This weekend a lady won the draw and each ball was worth $835. She broke and made 3 balls and picked up $2505.

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

I have a Dufferin Sneaky Pete I bought over 30 years ago and it was pretty cheap at the time. It's 16 oz and had the shaft turned down to 11.5 mm with a Le Pro tip. I had a collar installed in the joint so it didn't look like a house cue. I break pretty good with it and can't see myself upgrading.

    WPA Bans 245 Players

Interesting to see how many pool players will become multi millionaires in a 10 year span like Steve Davis or Stephen Hendry. Hearn might be blowing smoke and forgets there were fewer tournaments with huge sponsors and player endorsements back in the day. Tobacco and distillers were on board and...

The Zone -- Are We There Yet?

How much weight do you give to a numbering system for Kick shots?

I personally never learned any system and can kick decent from 1-5 rails when needed and hit most banks fairly well. I spend time hitting the CB around using various parts of the rails with inside/outside spin and adjusting as needed. After playing for 50 years I trained enough cueballs lol

Does Anyone Ever Get to the Point of Saying...

I'm 71 and love snooker and pool and just getting back into only playing pool. Can I get to a decent level ? I believe I can with some more table time and practice the right way. I've had a few bnr"s during practice and three 9"s off the break on my table. Last weekend I ran a few racks,banked...

How to Build a Career in Billiards

I had a friend that quit his job to pursue the dream and I think he only got a nightmare. He was good but not world beater good and if he stayed at his job he would've had money to gamble and if he went broke he had a paycheck coming the next week. I loaned him some money and specifically told...
