My practice sessions usually consist of me playing 9 ball on a 9' table on Mondays and 7' table later in the week for 3-4 hours each session., either by myself or with a friend who is pretty close to my level, slightly below. If i miss a ball or leave myself bad i set the shot up and do it...

I know i have a better chance with a shorter race...like i said i win 1 out of 3 on average. I won the hot seat one night just because i got in a lucky draw on the weak side of the bracket

Thanks to everyone posting legit advice. I like the idea of mentally accepting the underdog position and playing stress free because of that. Again, im not delusional enough to think i should be winning these small tournaments with short races to 2 or 4 against guys i know are superior players...

Thats why its a bit frustrating..I know im right there, improving, and not far off from being competitive with them.. Honestly, I usually lose due to lack of cue ball control resulting in a bad leave and not being very good at safety play when theres say 4 or less balls left on the table
