    Gold Crown Barn Find

^ That looks good and secure there, Scott. It's too bad that it had to be done at all, but you don't want 1200 lbs. strictly resting on your jack. Did you get a better price..or at least a better feeling of competence at the new company you sent the feet and castings to this time?

    Gold Crown Barn Find

Ugh...Sorry to read this Scott. That stinks that the fellow/owner that did this, has such a "C'est la vie" attitude. I would certainly leave him/the company, negative feedback, if that's a possible. If I recall correctly, this company charged you almost Double the estimate, to boot. You did...

Chalkless Cue Tips - the Grip Tip.

Thanks much! I tried to enter the Spinster website earlier, but it did not load. Anyone else have experience with these? Like/Dislike?

Chalkless Cue Tips - the Grip Tip.

These seem like a very good idea, as I've always hated chalking after each shot...the chalk always makes a mess on the table and the cue stick, and other areas. However, I don't see these for sale any longer, and the reviews on Amazon certainly weren't very good, but I think these would be great...

    Gold Crown 1 casting.

^ Looks very nice indeed. I wasn't aware the castings are usually too high on GC1's, but I'm new to all this. I will have to make sure when time comes, to mention this and make certain my mechanic gets them looking like how you got them on this table.

    Gold Crown Barn Find

Pictures...or it didn't hap...nah, I know you'll post them when you get them back. Using Poplar wood is a good choice for that light, seeings your table itself is made from it also. What colors are you going with on the light? Or maybe I should ask that question in that thread.

    Gold Crown Barn Find

Ugh...Sorry to read that. The heat & humidity both can cause big problems with the paint being able to dry and cure properly. Hopefully the next paint job will cure properly and will look nice and shinny. I see you started working on your light.

    Gold Crown Barn Find

I believe I sanded the Paint with 320 grit, but Polycrylic went...400 then 800, then 1500, then I went with those little Micro-Mesh sanding discs...2400, 6000 and ended with 12,000. It was Very labor intensive. After that, I used 3M Machine Polish-Finese II. FYI...Other than the Paint Sanding...

    Gold Crown Barn Find

I used a Rust-Oleum Enamel White Paint and rolled on 3 coats, sanding between each coat. I then brushed on over time, about 4 coats of Minwax Gloss Polycrylic over the paint, after waiting for the paint to cure for a couple of weeks. I then sanded the polycrylic smooth to achieve a pretty nice...
