nope, i was wrong - last year they had 233 so it is almost the same as last year - 219 in 2006, 256 in 2005.

for some reason i am thinking they capped it off at 128 in past years, but not sure - someone will confirm or correct i am sure.

not sure if AZ will have brackets this weekend since Mike H. is at the US Open for coverage. here's a bump in case anyone is around that can help.

just got word - 237 players and the brackets should be on the AZ homepage in about an hour (this assuming they are available in 30 minutes as indicated by the tournament directors).

keep watching the main page of AZ - the player's meeting was at 8pm and then they were doing the drawing - last year it took hours. Mike Howerton and Jerry Forsyth are on site and I am sure they will be up as soon as they are available to do so.

thanks Andy - that may very well be the place (my fingers are crossed that someone doesn't come on here and say they closed too :sorry: ) so glad to hear Big Daddy's is still a rockin - if things keep going the way they are, they may be the only place left in the state :( shoot em straight!

thanks for the warning fish on, but I am very familiar with the state of affairs in the way of pool rooms. that would explain why i haven't opened one as of yet. i appreciate you looking out for me though :wink:

you are close for sure - i am about 15 minutes max from the Delaware border (still in Maryland) - Pockets i think was the name of the place in Aberdeen and i was told it closed. not sure how far York, PA is but will check that one out too. i was thinking there had to be something near...

since i moved to northern maryland, i have not found but a couple of pool rooms in the area and both are 45 minutes or more away (Drexeline Billiards in Drexel Hill, PA and Top Hat in Towson, MD) - does anyone know of any other locations nearby that have a nine foot table on hand to practice...

there are so many tournaments that there cannot possibly be nothing to talk about - people have busy lives and hangin out on a forum is a luxury to some. with the economy so bad, there could be some that are working more to make ends meet, etc. you get the idea. but given the latest...

why is that weird? if they did it in a way that you choose in order of preference and then take the top two with highest votes or have three names marked taking the two highest. there are many variations to come to the same conclusion.
