Southwest & Kershenbrock, hands down best hitting cues ever made. Cognecenti is a close 2nd.

All else equal, is the measle pro cup harder to draw than other cueballs?

I play with the measle ball all the time as I have one on my table at home. I have not found that it is any harder to draw than the regular Arimath cue ball that came with the set of balls. If you are comparing it to a red circle, then you will notice a slight difference as the red circle cue...

What Do You Ask A Legend?

I have had the opportunity to talk to both of these great players. I took a breaking lesson from Johnny about 20 years ago and I have had the pleasure of talking to Nick on several occassions. They are both very patient and will answer all of your questions. I would ask them about their...

    Simmonis Vs. Gorina Cloth

I have found the Simonis 860 HR stays consistent longer. My brother in law used Gorina in his pool room and it gets slick and very fast once it starts to wear. I also really like the tour blue that Simonis has. Much easier on the eyes after a long session than the more traditional green.

Will someone w/break speed app do a test???

While I think everyone gets too hung up on speed and how hard a person breaks, I did test my break both ways using the Breakspeed iPhone app. First I broke off the headrail 25 times 1 diamond left of center and 1/2 diamond in from the head rail. After 25 breaks I recorded and avg speed of...

    Best Instructor in Portland, OR?

Without a doubt in the Portland area is Robin Dreyer. I have worked with him for the last 7-8 years now. He not only works on the physical game, but also on the mental game. Having a degree in phycology puts him heads and tails above Glenn as an instructor. If they were gambling, I would bet...

    Bar table gambling

I always prefer giving and receiving games on the wire instead of additional wild balls. It just adds too much luck to a game that already has too much luck in it.

    Oregon Players

Rack'em is where I have played for years! Medford, Oregon has been known for pool actions since back in the 70s. Also, I have a Diamond Pro Am in my house and love to entertain pool players!

    Pattern Racking

AMEN!!! Finally an intelligent post on here. Too many players want to make rules against intelligence. If you have taken the time to study your break and where certain balls end up, then more power to you. It is the same thing with players against breaking soft in 9 ball. If it gives that...

    Racking problems, "secrets" & solutions

Start using the Magic Ball Rack and you don't have that problem. Just a perfectly tight rack every time. You can really learn a lot about your break when the rack is exactly the same every time.

Bar Table • Heavy Cue Balls • Pool Tips •

I have a 9' Diamond at home, but play a lot of tournaments on bar tables. One of the most important things to remember is move the cue ball on the bar table as little as possible. There is just as much pocket on a bar table as on a 9 footer, just less rail. Turning the cue ball loose will...

What Kamui Black Tip Do You Like Best & Why?

I used the Moori mediums for years and recently swithched to the Kamui Black medium. At first I thought it was too hard. Easily the hardest medium tip I have ever played with. Now that I have gotten used to it, I love it. Holds it shape real well, doesn't have to be shaped all the time, and...

    Whats everyones main player???

Since 1993 it has been a Southwest. Originally I played with a cue made by Jerry Franklin and David Kershenbrock back in 1985, a plain cue made of Pao Fero. Three years ago I gave that cue to my wife and I now play with a six point ebony cue made by Jerry Franklin in 1996. I cannot imagine...
