Yes, the hardware is wrong for Schon. The ring is also wider than on an r-series shaft.

What makes it a treasure isn’t really who made it… The question is did it belong to the legendary Luther “Wimpy“ Lassiter?

A couple of the curiosities I’ve picked-up along the way… Trash or treasure?

I disagree: I’m usually ok with ruling-out Asian import when I see a derlin butt cap. You can also see that one of the shafts has an ivory ferrule. It’s an old cue. That shaft could be a relatively newer addition, but who has a $200 shaft made for a $30 cue?

They look right, but mine says “Ken Lane” on the butt cap. I also have a Porcupine that was clearly made by a different maker.

Does anyone know why the joint screw might be pinned like this? 60’s cue? Thank you
