How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

I don't care where you sell them anymore than who bought 84 Mustangs. They are both excellent examples of garbage design arrogantly riding an aging reputational advantage.

"Super premium" products. Look at those lines and beautiful tolerances. Our moats are so wide our customers have to eat our garbage." -Business geniuses

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

And I'm telling you that this is exactly how brands behave before they get annihilated. Good luck! Just a company with production delays and bottle necks, a product that isn't attractive compared to the competition, functions just okay, and is increasingly associated with biker bars and...

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

I'm trying to tell you that I have a negative view of your brand. When I walk into a pool room and see your products, I wish the owner had bought something else. You don't care. You would have been a great GM spox in the 1980s right before Honda and Toyota ate your lunch.

This is how brands behave on the way down. "We're too big to fail. We don't need to listen to customers. Only haters who can't afford our product criticize us. Users will adjust and put up with our 'innovations' and shortcomings." I could buy an airplane hanger full of pool tables. I'd...

Notable, neither corner is visible in your "corner to corner" shot. Strange that.

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

Let's see a video of you hitting a corner to corner three rail shot through the second diamond on the long rail on a Diamond. You will either be short on speed or the bank is short. Dr. Dave has a whole section of his site about adjusting for short banking Diamond tables. We aren't imagining...

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

The point isn't that perfection is attainable, it's that a Diamond doesn't even approximate banking on system. Pool is meant to be a manifestation of geometric principles. Just check out classic Donald Duck in Math Magic Land. Angle in = angle out? At moderate speed a GC gets close. Diamonds...

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

Let's not be silly. I like Diamond tables. If I had a place for one, I'd buy one for my home. But, they don't bank on system. I've played on dozens, if not hundreds of different Diamond tables and a three rail reference shot never goes through the second diamond on the long rail. It is...

Pro Pool vs Pro Golf TV Productions

The produced packages folks have referenced are really important to golf coverage and could be for pool. Player profiles, human interest stuff about the local pool scene, side stories about dead money players, gambling and road stories. Pool as a culture is full of great stories but coverage...

SLIDING BANK DIAMOND SYSTEMS … How to Aim Banks at Fast-Speed or Close-to-the-Cushion

Thank you, Dr. Dave. Really enjoyed the video. I have a friend who uses the cue measurement spot on the wall system. I could never figure out what he was doing. Mystery solved!

    Pool returns to ESPN….

I watched. It was hard to follow and amateurish. I'd play if I had a set of "pro cue sport league" balls. What I don't understand is why, if you desire pool to be popular on TV in the US you don't pick the game virtually everyone plays? I hate 8 ball but I'm not so daft as to not realize...

    Pool returns to ESPN….

It seems to be called "pro cue sports" which really rolls off the tongue. Looking forward to playing some amateur pro cue sports pool ball game when sets go on sale.

It's happening. They are playing all six pockets, "in the interest of time."

    Champion Billiards, Frederick, Maryland

QBall 1 in PG is barely inside the beltway, but it's a good old school room. In the city proper, Bedrock and Atomic are small but have big tables. Continental in Rosslyn has mostly eight footers but one big table. It's not what it once was. Streetlight and Center Pocket out 50 seem to be the...

Equipment Variation: A dimpled cue ball

    recent 9-ball notes

Breaking square and squatting the rock definitely makes nine ball a lot easier. Just watch a league match where one or both players has no break, the layout after a poor break is almost impossible to run out even for a good player. Whatever it takes to get a good hit on the one is probably...

    Just The Tip

I've accidentally switched to Tiger Everest tips. I was always a soft tip partisan. I bought a new shaft with an Everest thinking I'd get it re-tipped. That was more than a year ago and somehow my beater and extra shaft have grown Everests too. The more medium hardness seems to last forever...

    Heart rate data during play....

I agree. The hard part is calming down and relaxing when you don't need to be on. Adrenaline in the moment when it's critical is a good thing. Red lining all day is a recipe for a crash. I've done the test. 6ish hours and you're cooked.

    Heart rate data during play....

Adrenaline definitely contributes. One way I can tell I'm going to play well is when my sinuses suddenly clear. Adrenaline does all sorts of good things to your body including tightening your sinus membranes. It also sharpens and narrows our vision. It's good. No need to fight it. But drop...
