    PayPal issues!

So I come across cue I must have but have a dilemma with cash availability. Fortunately I have great credit with PayPal and want to take advantage of their 6 month no 0 % finance to buy some time to move some items. I go to pay for the cue and PayPal refuses to let me use their credit. Tells me...

14.1 Qualifier in Chicago August 12 for World Tournament

I just took up the game as well and I'm hooked. Joining a straight pool league was the best thing I could do.Currently in the handicapped league and fully intend on getting into the non handicapped league.Truly in pursuit of 100 ball run but first need a 50. Gold Crown awaiting assembly in...

question for league players... any player for that matter

My game was improving more and more when I suffered an injury to my grip hand ( nothing permanent but ended up requiring surgery). I lost momentum and ended up taking a 10 year layoff. Now that I'm playing again it was truly a poor decision. First off I forgot how much I like playing pool...

    Thank you Josh Treadway!

I've done some business with Josh as well. Very competent and easy to deal with.

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushions

What I've gathered from this thread is that Artemis were prefered at one time because of the superspeeds questionable quality. It is now believed that the superspeeds are a quality product at this time. While I'd prefer superspeeds it seems as if the Artemis are a fine substitute when properly...

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushions

Jerimy Chambers did the work and has a good reputation in Chicago. The original plan was to find a IV and have Mark extend the rails with superspeeds with 4.5" pockets. I happened to locate a super clean IV with subrails extended with Artemis and 4 3/8" pockets.

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushions

I hope I didn't make a mistake in purchasing a GC IV with Artemis already installed with extended subrails. Fortunately the table was never used commercially and is super clean. I just wasn't expecting the extra cost since I already need to add a ball return and was ok with that, do to the...

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushions

Thanks for clarifying this. How would the Artemis affect the playability of the table if installed correctly?

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushions

No, but I've seen posts from the past with you talking very favorably of them. Has something changed with them or have the superspeeds become more consistent since then?

How about the Artemis Intercontinental K55? Aren't they suppose to be a suitable replacement for a superspeed?

Which Cloth is better Simonis 860HR or Champion Tour Edition

Nothing plays better than Simonis in my opinion.

So what counts as a long run?

What I'm trying to say is sure a 20+ run is a long run, but can you consistently do it in match play? As well as a 30+ with some frequency and a 50 ball high run in match play. I then would think you're on to something or am out of line with these standards? Which I'm not near right now but...

So what counts as a long run?

Let me start with the fact that I'm very new to this game and have less than 30 games under my belt. In my opinion being able to consistently run 20+ balls, 30+ with some frequency and a 50 ball high run in match play would be a better way of looking at the OPs question. This is what I'm...

The pocket size on my new table is a little smaller than I wanted

I do not have a picture as the table is still in pieces in my basement. I have other things to do at the new house first. It is super good incentive to get the other things done. Typically a 4 1/2" pocket will allow 2 balls side by side to pass with no room to spare. A 4 3/8" pocket will not...

The pocket size on my new table is a little smaller than I wanted

Settled! 4 3/8" they stay. As stated in the original post, I wanted tight pockets all along. I just wanted 4 1/2" pockets. No reason to change over an 1/8 of an inch. My first 50 ball run will be that much sweeter and there is no doubt I'll have one. Many thanks to Elroy for selling me a...

The pocket size on my new table is a little smaller than I wanted

I haven't pulled the cloth off the rails so I don't know what thickness the facings are and to be honest was unaware that they were there. Thanks for the info. My inclination is to keep them as is. I didn't find them to bad when I took the table for a test drive. I'd probably be considered an...

The pocket size on my new table is a little smaller than I wanted

I just picked up a very nice Gold Crown IV along with a proper rail extension with 4 3/8" pockets. I really wanted 4 1/2" pockets. The games I play are straight pool, 8 ball and rotation games. I know it's only an 1/8" but what would you do? Keep them as is or have them opened up to 4 1/2...

Help me understand about 7 foot tables

I had always played on 9' Gold Crowns before I stopped playing. I was asked to play in a VNEA league last fall. Despite not particularly like playing on the Valleys it got me right back into the game. I still prefer a 9' especially since I'm playing straight pool now. 8 ball isn't all that bad...
