Dr Dave has a video that reflects what you are saying. As far as miscues are concerned, Master and most other chalks perform as well as Taom. Where Taom excels at is keeping your cue ball and table clean. A clean cue ball and table do have performance benefits.

I like carbon fiber for my break cue as well because it slides through the bridge much easier in my opinion and is more durable, usually anyways.
