Thank you for the suggestion. I can't even put drops in my eyes. I involuntarily flinch every time before the drop makes it into my eye. I doubt I could put a contact in or take one out.
Thank you. I like some of the drills in that video and will probably incorporate them. I didn't understand a word of the Finnish, lol, but I watched.
I've never had a pre-shot/approach routine. I have made one up from suggestions and I have been trying to make it a habit on every shot when I do...
Honestly, this is kind of what I'm doing, but, my consistency is so bad, I'm questioning if that is the right way. Obviously, I don't have the muscle memory to rely on any more, either.
@cjr3559 Do those videos start with basic drills for form/consistency, etc, or like many, do they assume those as a baseline and focus on position and patterns like many do? I wanted to be working on those things, but quickly realized, I'm not hitting the cue ball consistently where I want to...
There's no other real solutions out there except for those unattractive high-lens glasses, though, is there? Do you have issues with them touching your forehead/eyebrows and getting smudges?
Those seem a lot like the ones Toxictom suggested. Thanks to both of you. I'm hoping not to have to pay for another pair of prescription lenses due to cost, but, that might be the only effective solution.
I've got a 2 on the left eye which corrects to 20/15, but I have a 5 1/2 on the right eye. Right eye is supposed to be bifocal to 6 1/4 for reading, but I chose not to do the bifocals. I don't have an issue with the cue being outside of the lenses, but the object ball when it is about 1/2 to...
I played a lot 20 years ago and very little since. Since then, I've had to get glasses. I bought a 9' table so that I can get better. I've run through a decent amount of youtube lessons, and found that I'm really having to get back into the basics. I suspect I have multiple issues:
Form...
This was my biggest concern.
Along the way, if anyone had opinions on joint type (implex, etc) joint pins (radial, 5-16, etc) or other tips, I'm all ears, but, I was really worried about joint diameter and getting it to flush up well.
Well, since we all just came into an extra $1200 and my job was "essential" so I didn't miss a paycheck, your doubt is misinformed.
Then, I was looking at a lower price point and having a hard time finding anything in a good LD. Then, all the playing options got shut down by lock-down so it...
I'm trying to get away from the colored butts. My current one is red. I do like the walnut better than the black, but it's sold out on the sites I've checked so far. I haven't seen one I can try in person, either. Apparently Oklahoma doesn't have many options for buying cues. Haven't seen anyone...
I'm not trying to limit myself to a cuetec butt. I'm just looking for advice to make sure they pair up right with no overhang, etc, at the joint. That joint pin suggestions is exactly the kind of info I am looking for. My concern with the 1811 cues is the cocobolo wrap. From the images, that...
That was the only example I could find quickly of one where you can choose the Cynergy 15k shaft with a different butt in the customization. I don't know if this guarantees a better fit than ordering them separate.
My current cue is a Viking I bought back in '96. It's still in perfect condition, but, at 18 I thought the red looked good. Now, it just looks garish to me. I really don't think it would look good with a black shaft.
I'm looking at getting a Cuetec Cynergy 15k shaft. There's really only one real cue shop around and I don't remember seeing this shaft in the store, so I don't know if I can actually hit it to get a feel.
This is the one I'm looking at...
The HXT is only a low deflection ferrule, not shaft, though, right? My understanding is they don't make much difference on deflection compared to an actual LD shaft, but I admit, I could be very wrong.
Another valid option....
At least at the moment, I could fit a table in the house. If I should be looking to spend that $400 on a table and wait a while on the cue, then say so. I KNOW that would be the path to the most improvement, but....
