how are ya'll doing in league ?

Wow, had to dig back double digit numbers of page to dig this thread back up, but here's my gripe. We have a location in our league that uses a 6 foot valley table with 4 3/4" pockets. Hell, they may even be 5" they're that big. Two teams play out of that location, and they are diametrically...

What cleaner are you using for your balls 😂

I also use the Aramith ball cleaner and do it by hand...

    Tournament conduct, maintaining respect

Not just tournaments, this happens with a fair degree of regularity in league play too. You get a shooter that has a lot of skill and ability, but gets matched up against a much lower skill level player, and then for whatever reason, looses that first game. All of a sudden, their world goes...

The little write-up to explain the artifact is a blast. I sooooo hope this is something that really happened. LOL, the "post-catatonic era".

    GoSports 6' table

They do. Our league plays in a couple locations that don't do basic maintenance on the tables, some rails are loose and you can hear it when balls come off that cushion. Some are low from people sitting on the tables, and balls hop off the rails. One place has a pocket where the facing is...

    GoSports 6' table

Our local APA has a couple 6.5 foot tables and at least one 6 footer. Games go quickly, but you have a lot of traffic to negotiate and you'll hit over balls more often. As was said before, any table is better than no tble.

My company is based in Hyderabad, India. That country is over three time zones wide, so they just split the difference and went with that for the entire country. If you look at a listing of countries with different time zones, India, and couple other countries, go with that 30 minute...

    Ruling please

I played in a NAPA league, playing Lagger's Choice, which is eight, nine, and ten ball. Those rules specifically stated that the 2 and the 3 had to be in the back corners for ten ball. It was a pretty friendly league, so we'd say something about it before the break most times. They even had a...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

I have a ziploc at home with the patches, my GF has a wire keyring chain on her cue case with all of hers on it, all on full display. Old LO used to send them in each week's scoresheet envelope, but the new LO has gone electronic, so they stopped for a while. Our league rep was supposed to be...

Typical cost of epoxy coating for 650sqft garage?

I had a few guys come in to quote me for having the floors in a new processing area epoxy coated. We've done that in other places I worked and it makes it much easier to clean, and makes the whole area look better. One of the sales reps kept pushing another coating, I think it was urethane or...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Along the lines of some previous posts..... Had our 9-ball league last night. My GF is captain of that team this session, which seems to have focused her much more on things, in a good way. So we're playing the current first place team last night, we're in 4th, and it was even after the first...

    Something from Pete Rose

On a similar and kind of parallel thought process, and cross-referencing golf here. A buddy that I worked with, and we both played on a league in the company, we were talking about how a driving range doesn't help most people. His thought was that most don't know when to leave. You go there...

Way, way back a few jobs ago, I worked for the company that developed Dextromethorphan. It's in just about every cough medication, cause it works. My group helped that production department solve a problem they were having with the process, which was decades old even then, back in the late...

Anyone else here like to use drag shots?

My league plays on a few, shall I call them, "less than level" tables. If you try to play a slow roller, or have a longer distance shot that you want to just tap into the pocket, you run the risk of missing due to the roll-off. I have learned to play drag shots in those circumstances so that I...

APA handicap bumped during the middle of a regional tournament

In short, no, they were not. Most of the APA tournaments are "live" tournaments, meaning that each match is entered into their "system" individually, and you can be raised, or you can be lowered, during the tournament. I don't know if you watch the APA finals from Vegas that are on YouTube...
