Shot Clock - What's the point?

Just going to speak to the comments about having shot clocks in leagues. IMPOSSIBLE. Tables are too close together, players have to wait on other players constantly. And a clock is only as good as the person operating it, who's going to operate it for league night? Sorry, just not feasible.

    Rigid Padded Table Covers

rigid foam insulation boards, super lightweight. Glue some lighter weight vinyl to it or better yet buy a Diamond table cover and glue them to that.

    Fargo on Bar boxes

not an opinion. 7' tables are all bar boxes. They were created for bars. They wouldn't exist if not for bars. Bar table.

RIP Billy Lanna aka Billy The Kid

Never truly met the man but in a round about way I met my very best friend, the best man in my wedding, one of the world's purest souls because of him... Don't remember exactly what year but it had to be around 2000 give or take. My buddy talked me into going to a one pocket event in NC with...

    Fargo on Bar boxes

Weird how everyone's world/perspective is so different. Never ceases to amaze me. Our brains are all operating in different planes it seems. Not that anyone is definitively right or wrong all the time with their perspective(s) but it's just strange how different we can all see the "same thing".

Commentators talking about anything but the match in front of them

nothing wrong with little anecdotal stuff but full on conversations are pretty pretty off line. Even worse is when they start talking IN DETAIL about a match you can't see. Come on guys/gals, back on topic.

Can someone Break Down in Detail the different ways of giving WEIGHT in 9 Ball ?

I've seen guys stop the breaker and re rack them to switch sides etc conversely I've seen the racker put the money ball on the wing when it doesn't count on the break. There is no limit to what can be stipulated is the point. BUT be careful with all that talk cuz the more it feels like you're...

Can someone Break Down in Detail the different ways of giving WEIGHT in 9 Ball ?

speaking in ideals this is so so obviously the correct way to look at it however it just isn't reality. People will always respect their opponent either too much too little or just the right amount and it DOES have an impact on performance vs said opponent. Always has and always will for...

Can someone Break Down in Detail the different ways of giving WEIGHT in 9 Ball ?

assuming you're skilled enough to beat the 6 ball Ghost EASILY and are capable of playing your best under the heat provided by the other player then yes you're correct but I have a feeling you might be surprised in the real world examples of the people who would offer you this. Be careful out there.

    Fargo on Bar boxes

One feeds the other. Striking the cueball well and thus the object ball opens the door to the precision required to handle clusters and tight spaces. Does every great shot maker do it at the same level? Of course not. But the first step to that control starts with precise hits on the object ball...

    Fargo on Bar boxes

I agree with this in principle. However at a certain point the ability to strike the object ball accurately you gain playing on the big table translates into being precise enough to navigate tight spaces and clusters. Most players that play well on the big table can take their game to the bar...

    Fargo on Bar boxes

No matter how unlikely it may be, you are more likely to win a race to 5 against the best player in the tournament on a 7' than on a 9'. Sure, if you make it a race to 50 that removes all doubt but the race would be closer on the 7 than on the 9.

    Fargo on Bar boxes

Apologize for not being great at searching. I tried(admittedly not very hard) but there seemed a lot to sift through so I just started a thread don’t really see the harm in it? I thought the whole point of forums is to have discussions? Don’t want to discuss a topic, that’s cool just keep...

    Fargo on Bar boxes

I certainly didn’t phrase it perfectly but the point I was trying to make is that on the bartable any 2 players are closer together and therefore upsets more likely. Every single rack.

    Fargo on Bar boxes

Not sure if this has been discussed or not yet but I can't understand how Fargo can be as accurate on bar tables as on 9'. While I'm no champion I am a pretty solid player and you have to be very good to beat me. I've done lots of gambling on all sorts of equipment in my time. At this point of...
