    I finally played Ultimate Pool

That is correct. After the break you have to nominate either stripes or solids, and you must hit whichever you nominate first in a combo

    I finally played Ultimate Pool

I hear you. I wouldn't have balked at -4 if I'd had a bit more time. The way we were playing, the most we could get in were 4 games in 20 minutes. I had a shot in the first match. Had 3 balls and the 8 left with 30 seconds to go, and the timer went off as I went to aim on the 8. Would have been...

    I finally played Ultimate Pool

Just played in my first UP tournament... and it'll probably be my last. Had two games in a row where I started at negative 4 and we had 20 minutes to play. First match I won the first three and then my opponent ran out the clock (no shot clock as the tables are too close). 2nd match I lost...

How do LOW-COST CARBON FIBER SHAFTS Perform Compared to the Best?

I think in the video he says specifically that it's a tip issue with the Rhino, doesn't he?

    Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

You make a great point, and I intend to give a 12.4 or 12.5 a try. I'm pretty sure it was simply the much-thinner tip size that had me rattled, as it created an extreme taper. I have a friend who owns a rhino, and I'm playing with him tomorrow. I'll ask to take some shots and report back. Thanks!

Have you ever attempted to play with a very warped pool cue, and did it bother you, and were you able to pot balls with it consistently?

It clearly has no actual effect on being able to make balls, but it messes with my mind. I played a match two weeks ago with a warped cue while my McDermott was in the shop, and I couldn't make anything. The shaft was slightly warped and I had no confidence. The mind is a powerful thing...

    Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

I purchased a carbon fiber shaft to try out, a Rhino 11.8mm. Didn't like the taper, but it was probably simply to thin for me (I'm used to 12.5mm). Just sold it on ebay and returning to my wood Katana 3.

    Jump Cues

I bit the bullet and got the OKHealing. I'd been attempting to jump with what I've come to understand is a fake little monster I got off of TEMU before I knew about getting things off of TEMU. Looking forward to trying to get better at jumping...

10 best players in the world

Patriotism is another thread, and should have nothing to do with best player in the word. And as for whether I care that our sport has "third world status". Sure. But that's also a different thread.

10 best players in the world

How does watchability have anything to do with a rating of the best players? Harlem globetrotters were fun to watch, and compared to regular NBA basketball, where only the last 2 minutes are worth watching at all, there's no comparison. But the Globetrotters aren't winning a game against...

Better for me: AVID vs. G-Core or Vikore

Gotta say I've been intrigued by the Avids. Beautiful cues for sure.

Better for me: AVID vs. G-Core or Vikore

I tried out a carbon fiber Rhino to go with my McDermott. I gave it a good week of playing. Didn't like the feel of it, and the taper wasn't smooth like my G-core (nor my Katana 3 which I like too) I haven't experimented with tips very much, but did switch to a Tiger sniper tip on the Katana 3...

Better for me: AVID vs. G-Core or Vikore

Do you have the McDermott Engage extension? It's pretty much perfect. One twist and it's on

Better for me: AVID vs. G-Core or Vikore

I have a Mcdermott G-Core cue and enjoy playing with it. I've looked at Avids as well as they are so affordable, and seem like a solid choice. Last week I got my McDermott back from them after doing the Engage retrofit ($51) and now have the engage McDermott extension, which I love.

Isn’t pool supposed to be dead?

I live in Midcoast Maine, in a city of 6,800 people. There's a pool hall that opened up 3 years ago - barely hanging on. 8 beautiful 9' Diamond tables. With APA leagues, weekly tournaments, and now 4 individual Pool Hall-initiated leagues (8 & 9 ball, tier 1 and tier 2), you have to reserve a...

Pro Billiard Series - Las Vegas Men's Open 10ball live now

I hate the shootout, but the format works for me. I would equate it more to an NFL team gaining more yards than the opponent, but still ending up losing. Happens all the time.
