    Reyes cup 2025.

There's a lot more cue jerking off involved in the PSR on American tables. I'd usually agree with you about the pace, but the early rounds of Hanoi Open may have been equal to, or slower than, 8 or 9 ball on the Chinese table... "corporate wants you to find the difference between these two...

How often do you replace cue tips?

I'm thoroughly impressed with the Sai Hard - which replaced a bulletproof tip that I split. I am curious to see how it performs over time. But both power and controlled breaks are feeling great right now.

WNT Hanoi Open 2025, Vietnam, Oct 7-12

I think that brings more psychological/shark games into play. Unnecessary stoppage or psychological element to the game that could be avoided, I'd rather see it uniformed in approach, though I appreciate that is difficult to organize. Hopefully there is some solution In the future.

That will be why much of the early rounds were painfully boring to watch. Shot clock to every table required.

Best display of cueing you've ever seen

KPC vs Yapp was pretty decent

    Reyes cup 2025.

In general, MatchRoom is pro-wrestling, from the nicknames to the manufactured melodrama and wet social media. Still gives the opportunity to watch some good match-ups.

2025 Reyes Cup, Oct 16-19, Manilla. Team Asia vs Team World

I'd much rather see the captain leading from the front.

    Abundance of new chalk 'flavours'...

I have so many pieces of chalk, and you're right, the longevity is so long these days. Pagulayan is nice chalk, so is just about anything else. I have a piece of the blue Pagulayan that I used for a couple months, now it's a case spare. I've been using the HeddaRo Max 8000, and it's clean...

Still think 'non-playing' captains is the daftest and dullest nonsense...

    Abundance of new chalk 'flavours'...

There's a wave of new chalks all copying or emulating a mixture of TP and Taom (a lot with the same smaller square shape of Ding Jun Hui/Pagulayan becoming popular lately). All have one or more similarities with the other. From boxes, to soft-hard ratings. From octagonal Roku or Predator style...

How often do you replace cue tips?

At an average, I play 2-3 hours a day (sometimes more or less), 5-6 days a week (Sometimes more or less), longest has last me about a year (MW Supertip). But then only been playing pool for a touch over two years, I am sure a tip could last as long as you're comfortable with it. My snooker cue...

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

How did you know that before you dropped money on it? Who tugged your ear? 😉 Glad you like it and it works for you. You’re right about the subjectivity, and what feels right for a person, and I totally agree with you there.

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

Besides fan-girling, I would say such discussion could potentially help decide the actual value of a cue or shaft. Is it really necessary to spend $500 on a $5 carbon tube? Why are so many players using this, that or the other? How much do they get paid to do that? Etc etc

I jumped on board with the new McDermott/Chops collaboration

Yes! It was something like this. Nice.

I jumped on board with the new McDermott/Chops collaboration

As someone who has worked in skateboarding, and enjoyed my useless wooden toy for more than halve my life, I must admit it’s interesting as a concept. But I just can’t imagine it being a good cue. No idea who ‘chops’ are. I saw a similar cue at my hall recently, might have been Jacoby? I’ll...

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

I was given a Hayakawa KW shaft by a pro recently, and lots of players in my local I notice are using one now. Many people on social media here also asking me “what’s this shaft?” Bala bala bala… (was actually given one light and one dark, but I gave the dark one to a friend… pay it forward and...

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

I’ve heard a couple of stories where players use what they’re told to, won’t name any I’ve spoken to in person, but it’s more than one that I’ve personally talked with, and I literally got given a shaft that was ‘forbidden’ to use by a players overlords. Wasn’t there some public who-ha with...

    Calling all tip geeks............................

Teeth and hair. Brits who can't afford Harley Street have been hitting there for a while. The same way Koreans and Shanghainese who can't afford in-house go to Thailand. My parents never holidayed much until later in life. They like Egypt and Turkey. Dad's favourite things are watching the...
