    Expensive Cue Shooter

Another perk of living where I am currently located, everyone is aware of CCTV to the point where they become more ‘honest’ - I’ve lost my phone or wallet and had them returned countless times (back when I was a drunk fuckwit 😂). I could leave my case unattended and know there are no sticky...

Larry Vigus - Purpleheart and Curly Maple - Including 5 Shafts

Been gifted a nice Mezz case, so will throw in my grey 3seconds case to the deal. Pretty much ‘as new’ condition.

Larry Vigus - Purpleheart and Curly Maple - Including 5 Shafts

That’s what’s kept me from listing it for sale up until this point. The ifs and buts… but it is a crime to have only used it once this year. It was meant to be my forever cue, but it’s been pipped by an opportunist, and un-ignorable, Zen cue. Unless, heaven forbid, something unholy happens to...

I went for the Kamui Sai Hard, not a great picture of it, but very pleased with it. Probably placebo effect, but does everything I need of it at this point. Feels great, but I’ve only hit an hours worth of MR format 9ball breaks at this point. In the morning, I’ll give it a bit more muscle. Was...

Just checking with the cue guy what he's got in, but I am leaning towards a double face, especially if he only has the non-hard Sai in-stock. Does depend how much he wants to charge me for it of course! Thanks for your input. I did like the bulletproof, it had a nice feel/give/damping/bounce (I...

Does Being Tall Offer Advantages in Pool?

Is there a 'standard' height for tables? The Diamond tables seem to be lower than the Rasson at my local. Noticeably, but not drastically.

Does Being Tall Offer Advantages in Pool?

My good friend is 6'5+ and watching him play brings me pain. I'm 6'1 and no real issues.

Larry Vigus - Purpleheart and Curly Maple - Including 5 Shafts

Listing my case queen for any interest (in line with my belief I only need one cue, which I have and will keep forever. It was going to be this, but another great option wandered into my life) Larry Vigus - Purpleheart and Curly maple 3/8x10 Modified pin Butt: 15.7oz. 29" LV S1: 12.8mm 3.75oz...

Think I am going to go with either the Sai or Double Face. Cue guy asked if I wanted to leave a thin layer of the old tip to act as a padding. Is there any practical application to this? Would it affect the adhesive of the new tip? Probably won't do that, I am just curious.

Guy at the hall says he can replace with one of the following today; Zan Double face, Kamui Sai, BK2, Sonic, Taom Zan and Kamui Sai seem to be the same/similar construction of resin and leather. Might give one of those a try. Alternatively, I can order pretty much anything from Taobao and wait...

Ok, so this time I think I have buggered this tip... Seems to have squashed/split at an edge. This isn't a dent from a mis-hit. I noticed it last night. The day before, I spent a solid three hours practicing 10-ball, and high-point 9-ball (WPA style) breaks in the VIP room at my hall, as no...

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

I'm born in the mid-90s, and I mostly just refuse to pay $500 for $5 of material and a bunch of nonsense tech jargon. Not tried a carbon shaft that ever felt 'good' to me, and I am lucky enough to live somewhere where people love to throw money at things, and try many things. I do enjoy...

Looking For Opinions Re: Kielwood Cue Shafts.

Interesting. I know little about KW other than it is a heating process removing water and reacting with sugars in the wood. I too am interested in how they avoid rattling or problems with this adjustable bolt, though I'll likely never bother to find out, as I am happy playing with it at the...

Looking For Opinions Re: Kielwood Cue Shafts.

I recommend anyone reading 'research on cue ball deflection' to go and hit a few balls 😂 Not a single pro I've met has ever said more about their cue than they get paid to use it. Especially pros I've met playing with carbon.

Looking For Opinions Re: Kielwood Cue Shafts.

Usually KW shafts come with weight bolts which are adjusted to your preference. The Hayakawa I have came with 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 as an add on to its received weight 3.68 - I use with the 3.68 as it is and cannot fault it so far. It was given to me for free, and I am giving it an extended run...

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

From a cost perspective, there is real value to be found that is worth the money in wood. From the construction efforts to the material itself. There is simply money to be made from carbon. All these carbon tubes cost next to nothing to produce, and get sold to suckers with different stickers on...

Worst Pro Match Meltdown You Seen

Played in a tourney at the pool hall across town last night, lost 5-4 in the first match. Played average and had a headache. Worked 12+ hours and took an hour and a half to get there in the taxi. Next game, I think to myself that I made the effort to get there, don’t lie down, and was matched...
