The Mosconi Cup is a circus and not serious pool (who thought races to 5 was a good idea??). SVB is a deadly serious pool player, so I agree he's not a good fit. Personally, I believe he simply can't psych himself up for a race to 5 in that atmosphere...often playing with a partner no less.
