Well, I can see valid arguments on both sides of the standardized pocket size debate. On one hand, it's just pool and tables vary by make, time period they are from, and between the mechanics that work on them. Naturally variation between the table, chalk, cues, lighting, balls and everything...

Classy case. There's just something special about a Justis case.

Jayson Shaw live High Run Attempts

Goods points. I too play a little (a little) on the slower side and try to think my way through racks more than rely on constently shooting my way out of tough spots. Maybe if I pocketed balls like Jason my approach would be different. Having all that been said, he still may be on that run...

EXACTLY! WWYD are some of my favorite posts. Those generate a lot of thought and discussion. I learned some stuff and changed a few perspectives from those WWTDs.

Hmmmm, this is a pool forum where we have fun talking and dissecting all things pool related. Chill out and have fun buddy.

Jayson Shaw live High Run Attempts

This is a pool forum. We can be in awe and critique at the same time 😉 Also, while I agree that shooting fast and staying in a rhythm has its advantages, so does playing slower, methodically and shooting smart patterns. What works well for Jason Shaw may not be the best choice for another...

Sold Early 70's Bill Schick Cue w/ 2 Shafts

I would send him another message and say please respond if it wasn't yours. Then go with that answer. That works with my boss that seldom reads my emails.

Here's the other problem with playing that combo to break that 2/6, assuming that 8 fell, what's his next shot? I understand if the 8 fell the cue wouldn't be in that exact spot, but it could have been even worse as easily as it could have been better. Shooting that 3 in the side jacked up...

I have an unpopular view on what would make pool a more enjoyable spectator sport: keep tightening the pockets until running one rack of anything is impressive. To me, there's nothing more boring than watching a top pro run a wide-open rack. I would rather see him/her take some chances in...

Jayson Shaw live High Run Attempts

I gotcha ya, if the 2/6 doesn't go, those are problems. Even shooting the 3 in the side (I don't think he needs to shoot over the 2/6) and using the 5 to break up that cluster, he could still be caught not getting a good shot after.

I'm not sure that cluster (2&6) needed to be broke up. We can't tell from this angle, but to me, it looks like that 2&6 goes in either corner. Granted, nudging them apart would make them less tricky, I'm just not sure if doing so would justify shooting that combo. He also had the 3 straight in...

Is it worth going to the Billiards Expo in Philidelphia?

When you're there, pool feels like the biggest, most popular game in the world. It's a cool feeling being surrounded by thousands of people who love pool as much as you do. Don't eat there though; it's really expensive bad fair food.

    Jayson Shaw = 832 man

I got to play Jim Rempe in a straight pool tournament back early to mid 80's. I believe the final score was 125 to 20-something. I think his biggest run was 50 or 60, but he NEVER took any chances and there was NEVER a possibility of him missing. He maneuvered around the rack shooting one 10...

Hey, where are you located? I ask because if you're not too far away, I'd drive over and kick you in the nuts for that suggestion. Changing straight pool would be like changing the number of cards in a deck or number of sides on a die. Some things just are not meant to ever change.

That combo didn't look easy to me. If someone was shooting that combo in 9-ball, shooting the 9, there's absolutely no way I give them that shot. I think it was a combo I might make 80% of the time. I'm in the camp that he should not have shot it, he had an easier cut shot into the other...

They forgot to add one-pocket. How can they have 8 ball and 10 ball and no one-pocket. Horrible mistake.

I don't think there needs to be six figure incentive. These guys fly all over the country and play all week for 10K. I think a 10k incentive should be enough. Plus, all that stroking / practice can only help their game. The last time Shaw did the challenge, he steamrolled through the Turning...

Filler is another guy with alien-like concentration and determination. Plus, he has crazy skills and youth on his side. It would take someone with all those attributes to break 1,000. Give Filler a week with big pockets and 760 cloth and I wouldn't bet against him. Recall he ran a 285 at the...
