    Stolen Searing

Unfortunately, someone probably googled the sender's name and quickly learned the package could have an expensive cue in it. Once they got it home and researched it, they learned how unique, valuable and recognizable it is. My guess is they are looking for an oversees buyer. Definitely get...

Can you straighten a warped shaft?.....Manwon can!

I tried diligently. I must be doing something wrong because I was unsuccessful. If someone was to make themselves an expert on this, I'd bet they could have a nice little side gig straightening shafts. I have some shafts locked and loaded waiting to ship to someone to try. :)

    Stolen Searing

Man, horrible, horrible news. Sorry this happened to you. It's a pretty distinctive cue so it will show up sooner or later. I will certainly keep an eye out.

If a gun was put to your head to choose one player to pocket a difficult shot for you, who would you choose?

It's close between: Filler Shaw Earl Worst (from the stories I've read) Trump Dennis Orcollo Also, I have an Earl story. One time I was watching a young Earl (21-22) practice before a match. For some unknown reason, he started shooting out of a corner jaw to a ball in the middle of the...

    2025 Men's World 10-Ball Championship, Sept. 20-28 -- General Comments Thread

Hmmm, probabilities get a little complicated here (at least for me). For example: Player A wins the 1st set 4-3 Player A loses the 2nd set 0-4 Player A wins the 3rd set 4-3 So, player A wins the match but only ~44% of the racks played. Are you saying the match win probabilities are not...

Muscle up « and » play pool!

I've been averaging 5 days a week at the gym for the past 35 years or so. I got before work. I've never taken any steroids or anything similar, but I've always tried to get as big as possible while lifting casually and without supplements. It has never negatively impacted my stroke or game. If...

    China Open

Have you seen evidence to the contrary? I'm going to go out on a limb and say players show more raw emotion (personality) when frustrated than they do with success. The table-jumping-fist-pumping celebration after a big finals victory is so contrived it's cringeworthy. Another point (please...

I don't know buddy, the critical assumption to your statement is someone surveyed pool fans and could speak for the majority. To my knowledge, those data don't exist. For some reason, a real lot of people play recreational and league pool, but in relation to that large number, very few watch...

Admittedly, one pocket is by far my favorite game to play and to watch. I'm just trying to fix 9 ball for ya'all so it's more like one pocket.

I know what you mean. Sure, over the course of a match you can see those subtle differences (if you're a pool nut like us). For the casual fan, watching a 750 run an open table looks the same as an 850. In fact, even for us pool nuts, 750s can play flawless for an entire set. Make the table...

I didn't imply everyone should have a fighting chance every rack. I just said it would make the game more interesting to watch (at least for some).

    China Open

Nope, no problem. I would just like to see the game being challenging enough to differentiate between a 750 and 850. When I'm watching a Filler or Gorst at the table, I would like the game to be challenging enough to be able to appreciate what they're doing as being exceptional / the best in...

    China Open

Don't get me wrong, I admire today's top players too. Here's the issue I have though, with an open rack, it's impossible to differentiate a player with a 750 Fargo rating running out from the 850 sitting in the chair. As SVB once commented, 9-ball has become too easy: I would rather watch...

    China Open

Yes, I've noticed that too. But that's something totally different. If I break, don't have a shot, and then tie you up, your back is against the wall just trying to get a good hit so as not to leave BIH. Hopefully try to separate the cue and object ball the best you can. Very few kicks...

Then one mandatory push after the break wouldn't be a disruption at all. It would stop all the racking issues and pattern breaking. It would also ensure everyone has a fighting chance every rack. What's not to like?

    China Open

It's still 9 ball (or 10 ball); mandatory push just rewards the better safety players as opposed to the better breaker. Plus, a mandatory push eliminates the luck that's involved in the break.

    Wanted Richard Black cue.

What's the cue in between? Is that a Cortland wrap? It's a beauty.
