    China Open

I am obviously in the minority here, but I don't enjoy watching racks run. I enjoy watching a strategic battle. I say winner break but there's a mandatory push after the brake. Besides being able to enjoy all the strategy and safety play, it negates all the pattern breaks. Also, it will save...

1990 US Open Sigel & Varner - 5 Inch Pockets

It looks like someone was practicing jump and masse' shots on every square millimeter of that table.

Feedback on My Stroke & Mechanics – Looking to Improve Fundamentals

Regarding your movement, when I was learning to play, someone told me that when I'm stroking to after I pull the trigger, only part of my body that should be moving if below my elbow. That was easy to remember and incorporate. I'm not 100% sure it's good advice but I believe it helped me.

    What killed the slip stroke?

I thought it was the opposite.

    How Common Is This?

This works. A couple years ago, I just felt like shooting gimme one rail short banks. I probably hit hundreds over a few hours. For some reason, it just puts your mind in a place of extreme confidence that tends to carry over to your entire game.

    Ever do this?

To my experience, nobody maintains house cues anymore. Every pool room I've gone into the past decade doesn't maintain.them at all. What starts off as an ok one piece becomes unplayable once they use a push on rounded tip.

    An event I’d watch…

Similarly, I always wondered why pool and snooker didn't figure out a way to combine. Something like a rotation gave on a snooker-like table. That would be fun to watch.

    9 and out from nowhere

A few years ago he was on that Roy's Basement podcast thing playing the one pocket ghost. I believe he had a couple 15s the first time he ever tried it. I believe he played two sessions and had just crazy high scores both times. Just like this out, he made them look easy and casual.

    Cue ID please (import?)

This belongs to a buddy of mine at work. He bought it at a yard sale decades ago and has been sitting in his attic. Weirdly enough, it seems pretty straight.

    Thrift store cue ID please

There's a thrift store about a mile from work so I go there on my lunch hour just for something to do. I bought this because it was $14.99 with the case. It's 5/16-18. The wood-to-wood joint with ringwork would seem to make it some kind of ok cue.

    Proficient Billiards Cue Repair?

None better for a refinish no matter who you hire and how much more you pay. I've had several cues refinished by Proficient and their work has always been flawless.

    SVB-Fedor.... Texas Open

Yup, I have always said there is nothing more boring than watching a top pro running an open rack. Keep making the pockets smaller until running a rack is impressive and interesting to watch. IMHO, casual fans would get a kick out of watching players struggle and anguish (it would help make...

    Happy Birthday Bob Jewett

Ha, I didn't watch it that far. That was great! What was up at 1:41:10? What did Shane do wrong for Bob to take ball in hand?
