Not to spam, but can anyone answer these?

Quality. They are essentially disposable, but nice to have for less careful guests

    Floor covering for basement

This is the route I wanted to go in my garage, but the concrete finish was too rough. It'd need a TON of grinding to fix, so I didn't bother. Should be a very comfortable surface for playing on.

Good deal. The rack looks decent, and it's always nice to have some cues kids can use.

    Entry/mid level low deflection cue

I'd definitely recommend going used. There must be some sort of facebook pool group or similar for your area that you could join. Ask if anyone has a decent LD cue for sale and go from there. Wait until you have a better idea of what you like before springing for a new cue. If you don't like it...

    Diamond ball polisher

That looks like a good design too Steve. The main reason I want to build to diamond spec is that I assume they have already done the troubleshooting on the best carpet/cleaning pads to use, and it's probably easiest to just use theirs instead of wasting a bunch of time on my own to find what...

    Diamond ball polisher

How weird, I was just coming on to post the same question. That looks like 9 3/16"? Is that the surface the carpet attaches to, or does it step in there? I'm assuming we have the same idea. I'm going to build the machine myself, but use (or at least have the option to use) Diamond's carpet and...

cheap sets: how late is late to pay up?

Crap like this is why my policy is pay to play. If the cash isn't out before the game starts, the game doesn't start. Even on my (very recreational) team we play buck a head scotch doubles for team practice, but if the money's not on the table, the game don't start.

What? Pay to play. Settle after every set. No way they go home with their cue if they can't settle for cash on the spot.

How many of you Break with your main playing Cue or use a break cue / house cue

No joint on any decent cue is going to be damaged from breaking. The only possible weak point would be tip/ferrule, and then I'd only be concerned on a LD (hollow) shaft.

How many of you Break with your main playing Cue or use a break cue / house cue

A few years ago I switched to a lucasi slim 11.75 LD shaft, and started using a break cue just because I didn't trust it to cope with the repeated stress. For the 25 years before that I always broke with my shooter, and never saw any adverse effects from doing so. Maybe my slim shaft could take...

I'm in Canada and got them shipped from olhausenonline.com.

Aramith Standerd Crown Ball set -?

With Aramith, the more expensive sets use better quality resin, with the best being the duramith balls. With Dynasphere, they use the same resin for all their balls. That's why there's such a tungsten bandwagon, top quality materials at bottom tier prices.

Yeah. I'm not lazy, I'm... productive. Sure. Let's go with that.

Nah, it actually feels quite smooth. Tried it out yesterday for about 6 hours and it plays good, so that's the main thing anyway. Cue doesn't snag on anything at all, slides nicely on the rail.

    Raptor Liner!

The inlays turned out so-so. I mixed black paint with the resin and probably shouldn't have. Good enough for now, but might redo them later. Got a match scheduled for tomorrow, so hopefully it's fully set by then. I guess that's where I call it finished for now. Edit: Link to bigger pic...

    Raptor Liner!

I went with Canadian dimes cause it's what I had, and it worked sizewise with the best flat bottom drill bit I have. Glued in and ready for resin:

Yeah, that's my general mess accumulation bench. It progressively gets worse until it causes me to miss a shot because my backstroke hit a jug of antifreeze, then it gets a roundhouse cleaning. Rinse repeat.

    Started on the diamonds.

Lol. found a pic of the table when I first got it. The whole top rail was painted blue.
