Definitely try both, they play and feel very differently. They are both great, with cuetec feeling consistent between different diameter shafts. Predator 11.8 versus 12.4 does not feel or sound the same IMO. Predator has slightly less deflection on hard shots, again IMO. Mezz and Cuetec feel...

My largest 5/16-14 pin is .308 and there is definitely some wiggle room there, until it engages into the plastic half of the United joint, then it snugs up nicely. My Mezz united joint measures at .312, so your pin should work.

Yes and it's about 2 years old, however it didn't get much play the first year. I used it on multiple 5/16-14 cues without issue. You can measure the OD of the pin and I can check it against mine.

I have a Mezz Ignite, 12.2mm with a united joint - fits 5/16-14. I'd consider letting it go for $450 shipped. It's in excellent condition with a newer Ultraskin black hard.

Carbon Fiber repair is typically performed by mixing graphite powder with epoxy to fill in the void. Then sanding the repair down flush and buffing to match the rest of the finish. Matching the existing finish is usually the hard part unless you refinish the whole shaft.

Bar table 8 ball is more interesting because you're constantly breaking up clusters and playing more precise position. 8 ball on a 9' is kind of boring especially at the pro level, seemingly constant break and runs.
