WTB Quick Change Tool Post for Hightower Lathe

Yes. It's nice because it pulls the tool holder down and towards the body when you tighten it. The other design just pushes out. That's functional but it's not nearly as nice as locking with wedge mechanism.

WTB Quick Change Tool Post for Hightower Lathe

The wedge is a much better design anyhow.

    SPAM every month from uknowwho!

I think he's entertaining to be honest, and the once or twice I interacted with him was pleasant. If it bothered me, I'd unsubscribe like I normally do, but I actually don't mind his.

    Table Size at Professional Tournaments

What does my skill level have ANYTHING to do with this? I can't ski worth a damn, but that doesn't mean I'm going to watch Olympic athletes go down the kiddie hill, and then maybe hop over a speed bump at the end. Truthfully, I can't ski down a kiddie hill and hop over anything, but I still have...

But it's a lot cheaper to transport and setup my font.

    Table Size at Professional Tournaments

All I know is I'll never pay one cent to watch someone play on a 7' table...not buying a ticket, a stream or a dvd, and if the event is free I won't pay for the gas money and parking to get there. I'm also not going to pay to watch pro baseball at the local playground, or pro basketball in my...

Report card time on UltraSkin and SIB Layered Tips

One other thing I'll add is that price means nothing to me when selecting a tip. Compared to everything else in the world, $20 for a tip every few months is pretty meaningless, and I do my own work so it costs me zippo to install it. The fact that the tips are inexpensive is just icing on the...

Report card time on UltraSkin and SIB Layered Tips

I hope not...I couldn't stand the Mooris. :) When I get my act together and a little free time, I'm going to try some of the SIB tips, though.

They polish nicely with compound. I do that on the lathe instead of burnishing.

Report card time on UltraSkin and SIB Layered Tips

The Ultraskins Med and Hard are the only two layered tips I like. Don't like Moori...Kamui...Tiger...and a couple of others that escape me at the moment. Really like the Ultraskins. My one gripe is they glaze over easily, no matter what I do. It's not a big deal, but I've gotten in the habit of...

Anyone shoot with just one or two cues for many years?

If McD reissued that one cue, and actually built it right, they'd have a real winner. Out of the entire D series, that seems to be the one people grab and hang on to. I originally ordered mine with a linen wrap, and believe it or not it still has the original wrap on it! I'm going to send it...

Why do women usually get a game?

It's simple. Far less women play then men. If 5% of the population has some aptitude to really play pool well, you're going to have a lot more male players that can compete and very few female players. Think about it for a minute. Look around the next time you're at the pool hall. It'll be...

    Mosconi Cup

Personally I think it's disgraceful that pros like you are basically forced to play bar boxes. The rise of the bar box is easily the worst thing that's ever happened to pool, I don't care how many pros come out and say that they like the format and that it's fun. I have to think most of them are...

    Darren's Cue-throwing technique vs. Rodney's

ROFL...I'm loosing my touch. Had to read it a couple of times to get it.

    Darren's Cue-throwing technique vs. Rodney's

They probably could have beaten us with a telephone poles, and that's really not to take anything away from the US team (though they didn't play well). Europe was firing on all cylinders and playing world class pool.

SJM Slant on the 2016 Mosconi Cup

Maybe my memory is wrong, but I think it mostly came up in the context of one team member sizing up the next shot while the current shooter was sizing up the current shot and working as a team not to burn up time on the clock, especially when they were on opposite sides of the table. I thought...

Anyone shoot with just one or two cues for many years?

The D4 doesn't hit like the D19 either. There's something special about those old D19s that make them a little unique. I always assumed it was just the fluke combination of McD construction and the maple/ebony wood.

    MOSCONI CUP LIVE (Score Updates)

I have nothing bad to say about Mike. Seemed to keep his composure fairly well. My gripe is with the team as a whole. Right from day one, the only guys that seemed like they really wanted to be there and rock were Rodney and Woodward. And truthfully, it was probably Rodney that got Woodward...

Anyone shoot with just one or two cues for many years?

Just curious about this. Here's my story. Back when I was a young teen...maybe 13 or so, my dad got me my first cue: A cheap piece of crap Cue Ball Kelly cue. I think we paid $50 or $75 for it, and that's probably overpriced. I've been using it as a practice cue on my new cue lathe. About a...
