Custom Cues: What's Hot, What's Not

IMHO Skip Weston's stock will definitely skyrocket when the 3rd edition of the Blue Book of Pool Cues is published. I think that when people can see the construction of his cues, finish and design work, that he will be inundated with work. His points are really the best in the business and the...

    My New Skip Weston!!!

I live in Colorado now. Was back in Jersey last June for a course at Ft. Dix and got to visit Skip and some family in Summit. Brought back memories, but, in all honesty, the only things I miss about the East Coast are the food and the shore.

    My New Skip Weston!!!

Roger - I have two of Skip's cues and love them both. My first one I had up for sale a few months ago and pictures are in the for sale section of AZB. It is a classic four point ebony with four veneers, maple, perobarosa, purple heart, and ebony, 5/16 X 14 steel joint, white with black speck...

Brand New Traditional Jim Buss For Sale

I've met Jim Buss a number of times and have seen his work first hand. IMO that is a very fair price for that cue.

    Billiard quotes

Billiard Quotes An "Old School" pool player and very good one pocket player said to me while looking for a matchup "Hell, I don't want to play a champion, I want to play a chumpion". About fell out of my chair!

    new cuemaker inquiry

I'll second your best choice in Skip Weston. He really does the best point work in the business, great playability and a great guy to boot. His traditional four point cues are the nuts!

Mike Wheeler cue Man I would have jumped all over that cue if I had the cash! I had one of Mike's early cues that he made when he worked in Richard Blacks shop. He does superb work, you won't be disappointed.

    $Bill and Pelican

A lot of the communications in the Gulf Coast/New Orleans area are down. Been trying to reach some people in Biloxi/Gulfport area since Tuesday, to no avail. May take a while to normalize down there.

How do you clean your shafts?

First, I try to keep my shafts clean by washing my hands several times during a long session at the table, using proper chalking technique and never placing the chalk face down on the rails. I use an inexpensive, water based, wood floor cleaner sprayed sparingly on a clean cotton cloth and...

Need help on choosing a leather case

I think that Ron Thomas' cases are the nuts! He makes a superb product. The look is "Old School" understated Fellini and his workmanship is first rate. If you want a case that seals and will protect your cues go with a Thomas.

100k to 200k Theft at the Riviera APA

I agree. Think that this guy needs to get his head screwed on straight and start treating individuals like individuals. Probably ought to think about just staying in Kansas, not sure that he could deal with someplace like LA or San Antonio.
