    Camel Pro 8-Ball Championship

Absolutely! Take football (soccer). As far as European teams are concerned, there are two majors - the World Cup and the European Championship (the "Euros"). The Euros is harder to win than the World Cup because, other than Brazil and Argentina and occasionally another temporarily strong team...

Jayson Shaw is going for a new personal best high run!!!

Best of luck to him. However, it's not very interesting, contrived, and largely a waste of time of all involved.

Poll: Alternatives for Snooker foul rules

None of the above address a fundamental flaw. A foul involving a red being potted is worth only 4 points but it deprives the opponent of the opportunity to score 8. The foul should be 8 points per red potted on a foul shot. The miss rule is clumsy. Just award a free ball after any foul.

Why 9' ft. Tables ? Guy...

I think I agree with this. 7's are easier in so many ways but even with a banging break you will occasionally get clusters that you have to break open optimally if you want to run out.

Looking for leagues in other countries

Pool aside, good luck with the move. Costa Rica as an option is better known but Panama is particularly underrated as a place to live.

Matchroom changing break rules for European Open (Aug 9-14 Germany)

One of the things (a bonus, if you like) I love about pool is that the playing community is way ahead of the curve. I'm not sure where you are going here with "acting" a certain way. I'd rather you just acted like yourself without calling others pathetic. You have called yourself out when you...

    Forceful break in 9 Ball...

Jumps are rare. The others - they probably wouldn't notice.

    Forceful break in 9 Ball...

No, it's true. Most people who watch 9 Ball on TV do not understand it. I agree with you that "almost all people who take time to watch pool understand the game". Apologies if my point wasn't made too clearly.

    Gambling As Better Player

No you haven't, but don't assume that others are. There are guys in their 90s who play every day, played every day, never played for money and love the game more than me, you and every other AZ poster. The thousand dollars? No thanks but you are more than welcome to give it to a good cause or a...

    Archer, mataya 89

I think they would miss so rarely that they would pretty much not miss. The Minessota fats quote is great - bet a little higher and they will soon tighten up. But tournaments and money games (exploitative ones rather than just making it interesting) are very different animals. Always good to...

    Gambling As Better Player

Clearly not, otherwise the OP wouldn't have raised the issue. You might be right though, maybe the OP "should" just chill with it. But it does sound like that's not their thing.

    Archer, mataya 89

Same with all sports and games. Even a sport where the biggest prize is only 50 or 60k USD has become professional to the extent that there are recreational players with more knowledge of the game than pros had 30 or more years ago. That said, I think most of the best players back then would...

    Forceful break in 9 Ball...

Nothing wrong with "templates" but they should be over the balls (or somehow used to set them up and removed before the break) not between them and the playing surface. Allowing something, regardless of how thin it is, to interfere with the balls is just lazy. I actually don't mind but I trust...

Hours, weeks, months, years, and I’m still lousy

It is. If it wasn't, we would all be making 90+ % of our balls. Even the belittliing bragsters on AZ don't do that. Sure, I can run packages but my average is based on everything I do not my best moments. If the game were easy, the top players wouldn't be rich (by most people's standards) from...

    Forceful break in 9 Ball...

It's not marketable. Most people who watch 9 Ball don't understand it but will still watch it. 10 Ball is even more niche.

    Forceful break in 9 Ball...

I disagree. It was as interesting to watch as players smashing the break to high heaven. What is even more interesting is that not everyone around that time went for the soft break - just as under the more recent attempts at controlling how players break most players aren't as good as the best...

Matchroom changing break rules for European Open (Aug 9-14 Germany)

A counter argument to that would be not to allow players, who win most of their matches because of their break, to continue to dominate by relying so heavily on one aspect of the game.

Matchroom changing break rules for European Open (Aug 9-14 Germany)

I agree, let them break how they like. Although I have no idea what pink or any other color panties have to do with anything, as that's a completely unrelated subject to the break. I also don't understand what "act like men" means. That is a very strange expression, pool players can be male or...
