Predator 10 Ball Format Great for the Game/Audience

If anyone says a shootout is "not fair" yet is a proponent of winner breaks (and beats on about it being the same for both players) for a single race then they are talking hogwash or gobbeldigook or a closely related dialect.

If a gun was put to your head to choose one player to pocket a difficult shot for you, who would you choose?

Me (wouldn't want anyone to live knowing they missed)

    US Open 08/18-23

My apologies, I misread it as they were checking via the slo-mo replay (I didn't watch the match). I stand by what I said though about it being subject to opinion - the rule is a poor one.

    US Open 08/18-23

Herein lies the problem. Whether or not a break is soft or not shouldn't be about opinion - because all referees interpret it slightly differently. Therefore the opposing player has a stone cold right to question it (and respect for the game dictates that it should be after he fact and not in...

3 things you would change about pool

I like this - although why not go all the way and make a jump shot legal only on the first shot of your inning..

    Slow play by pros

Why should we attack you? Can we just disagree like people did in Keith and Earl's time?

    Slow play by pros

Golf is a bit like tennis. Everyone at work on Monday morning says they watched it but actually they didn't. Those who actually watched it enjoyed the golf.

    Killing the game!!

Said it before and I'll say it again. If you won't watch (or play) without a shot clock then you don't understand the game. You are not the only player and not the only observer. I totally get the reasons for shot clocks, especially when it's on TV. And I'm fine with it. What I'll never...

3 things you would change about pool

    1. New cloth every day might be better 2. No brainer. Matchroom will revert to alternate break, just give it some time. 3. More or less.

Team Asia v. Team Rest of the World, October 16-19, 2025

Haha! So they are changing the name of Team Europe so Fedor can still play for them.

World Pool Championships 2025, July 21-26, Jeddah

tbf, as we say where I was born, Ameer Ali is probably very good at pool partly because he was very good at snooker. The fact that he might be the best pool player on the planet shouldn't be confused with how difficult it is for snooker players to become good at pool.

World Pool Championships 2025, July 21-26, Jeddah

This Ameer Ali fella plays like Jayson Shaw without the Scottishness. Defo deserves his Fargo rating.

World Pool Championships 2025, July 21-26, Jeddah

The billiards scene worldwide is awesome, connected and sometimes complicated. I think we should be more concerned when the cameras panned to Daryl Peach in the audience and Yates said nothing. Neither did Scott Frost. I can understand why the former didn't know and the latter didn't click -...

This Layout Took Me Three Tries

Agreed. It's a tricky out for most "decent" players. There are much easier runouts that I curse myself for missing.

UK Open 2025 Telford, UK, May 6-11

He's from Galicia (but lives down South so will ceceo) so possibly speaks Galician as well as Spanish. Galician is actually closer to Portuguese than Spanish and if someone asked me to guess where a random Mr Souto came from I'd guess Portugal before Spain. This might also partly answer some of...

UK Open 2025 Telford, UK, May 6-11

I follow snooker fairly closely. I've heard of Fraser Patrick on the snooker scene but "heard of" is where it starts and ends - I haven't had time to watch until now this week and I wouldn't recognise him if I saw him. If he does really well in this event then all credit to him - realising that...

2025 World Snooker Championship (No More DAZN)

Yeh I kind of agree. The mind games don't come into play so much with Williams. He just does his job and does it oh so well when he is on it. Anyway, it's a great watch as will be (I hope) the final.

It is not his cue or his ferrule. He's not playing well enough.

2025 World Snooker Championship (No More DAZN)

An elite snooker player can play near optimal with a solid house cue. Stephen Hendry (who played with a bent cue for years) just said as much on the BBC. Ronnie missed a few, Zhao was on fire and Ronnie lost his head a bit.

2025 World Snooker Championship (No More DAZN)

These players are so good partly because they are so measured/level headed and therefore consistent at an incredibly high level - yet Luca, Ronnie, Judd and and even Shaun Murphy are playing above and beyond because they are telling each other so. Amazing snooker this year.
