Iowa 2025 - Ultimate Pool USA

I agree. But a "deliberate foul" is loss of game according to these rules. A daft rule if you ask me - but there was deliberation/intention behind putting his hand in the pocket. Regardless, putting your hand in the pocket to collect a falling ball is a foul.

Iowa 2025 - Ultimate Pool USA

Hmmm, putting your hand in the pocket to catch a ball should, according to any proper interpretation of the rules, always be a foul. Balls have been known to bounce out of pockets back onto the playing surface. I can't think of any situation, other than in a friendly game, (where several...

    Agreement between matchroom and wpa?

"Wrong" or "wrongly"? The former is acceptable, and therefore correct, although the grammar police might insist that it is incorrect (and therefore used wrongly). I don't mind and I would never call anyone out on it unless they'd called someone out first - in the same way that I wouldn't call...

    Thoughts on Pattern Racking/Rack Manipulation?

Yet we still have top pro players complaining that refs don't know how to rack .... which actually means that they just rack and some racks are a bit sluggy and others are a bit tight, which sounds good to me.

    The Reyes Cup

Aye, but it's all too easy for the finger pointers to talk about Europe not showing "team unity" while ignoring the fact that Asia "looked" anything but a team during the team games. Loada nonsense, both teams played to win and Asia got the job done. And they got it done quietly.

    The Reyes Cup

Yes I did. I include the inverted commas and then added some context. If you are being a tw@t please go away. If you are mistaken, I apologise for misunderstanding "flat wrong".

I think they are incredibly useful and that it's good television.

    The Reyes Cup

I saw the entire tournament too. Asia played better and won without the need to show team unity. I agree, they showed tremendous unity. I actually said that. Which part of my post was flat wrong?

    The Reyes Cup

There wasn't much "team unity" between Team Asia either. You just need to look at their seating arrangements and chats during the team matches. Having said that, the way "team" is done is different in Asia than it is in the "West". Asians don't "play their hearts out" in the same way Europe has...

    WPA Bans 245 Players

It's a little more than zero. It's a completely daft version of pool but it's surprisingly good and maybe you should give it a go. But yeah, the WPA has it's fingers in it because the WPA has lost any soul it ever had. It will lose Heyball soon enough too....

Highest number of rack run in a row in 9 ball.

I was very close to running 26 racks in a row back in '95. If the 9 hadn't rattle in the jaws in the first rack I reckon I'd have made it.

    What is a Shortstop?

My understanding has always been that a shortstop is not pool-specific and is a local player who is good enough to make up the numbers either as an individual in a tournament or as a team player when somebody can't make it. In pool this would probably translate as a player who is good enough to...

    2024 World 8 Ball Championship (2-8 Sep), New Zealand , Winner $75K

I like this. I also like take what you make with a compulsory push out. I think the non-shooter shouldn't choose the suit - but I might convince myself that Pass Off is better.

    Playing pool in the Philippines

More good players than mostly everywhere else but don't believe the hype. If you can play, you'll be fine.

Is Karl Boyes à complete moron?

Sounds like unintentional side. Whatever, Karl Boyes is or isn't a moron.

Is Karl Boyes à complete moron?

Is deflection not a type of "throw"? I'd never heard the term "deflection" before people started talking about "low deflection" cues.
