Dr Dave did a test of a few different chalks. One was the Taom. And as I recall there was no difference in the tip position and miscue between the various chalks. In my personal experience, and I've been using Taom exclusively for about 2 years, never noticed any issue with miscues.

Breaking with a phenolic tip will scuff the cue ball. No way to fix that without scrubbing out the scratches. Which could cause an issue with the roll. So I just clean it best as possible and move on.

The best playing cue ball is the Aramith purple label. It is the same size and weight as the numbered balls. And it comes back when you scratch. After this your next problem will be the numbered balls. Dirty, chipped, odd sizes ....

The terminology in this thread is weird to me. I use running english to describe the cue ball spin when hitting the cue ball directly in to the rail. Directly meaning before hitting an object ball. When talking about cut shots I use inside/outside. Where outside reduces cut induced throw.

Players not updating the score happens. Its not really a digital pool issue. The score on the screen shot was controlled in the production booth.

The BCA needs to work on its streaming skills. ie. cutting streams into individual matches, naming the streams correctly, sound and video quality. Lets hope next year is an improvement.

When I played with the donut hole rack (the alpha rack) we would use a wooden rack to see if a ball is in the "rack". I would never play with a lay on the cloth template rack. It interferes with the ball movement too much.

That pocket is definitely out of spec for BCAPL/CSI play. WPA says pocket shelf measured from a line nose corner to corner to the shelf should be less than 2.25". Maybe it passes WPA spec. Close.

I second the perimeter light. Pricey but well worth it. I recommend getting one with color adjustment and dimming. These lights are far superior to those center of the table lights. Compare my light to the one posted above. Take note of the shadows. Straight down.
