OB Phoenix Shaft 12.3 or 12.8

I just recently purchased a 30” 11.8 Phoenix shaft. Haven’t gotten to try it yet. They said they had a machine break down and also some problem with inserts. So they’re kind of behind right now by 3-4 weeks. I got to try on out at the local pool hall though and it had the same threads as my cue...

    Joss cue from 80’s-90’s

Anyone have a joss willing to part ways with? Nothing too expensive. $500-$600ish? Not sure if that’s asking too little for one of that age. My ex father in law had a joss cue from the 80’s and I remember playing with it when I was younger at that was one of my favorite cues feel wise. Is had a...

    Questions regarding ivory and travel.

I don’t own any cue with ivory or anything thing like that. Just curious. If you can’t bring a cue that has ivory into countries or places like that. Why not just say it’s not ivory? How can they verify it actually is ivory? Just say it’s a material that almost looks identical under a...

    Jump Cues - Wood-Carbon Fiber - Science?

IMO I don’t think ones really better then the other, It’s which ever you feel more comfortable with. Science will probably say carbon fiber bc it’s stiffer. I prefer fat maple shafts to jump with but I need a hard tip on it with a quarter radius or nickel radius shape at the smallest. I’ve...

Found the best thing to burnish and slick up a shaft.

I agree. I was just letting people know that if they have these gloves. They work really well to burnish the shaft. I have tons of leather pieces that I use to do so. The glove works the best from all the other pieces that I have. Those gloves are on par with the leather strips I use to finish...

Found the best thing to burnish and slick up a shaft.

Yes leather. Wearing the “leather” was easier to get the heat and friction needed on the shaft to burnish. Way easier then the little 2”x4” rectangles you buy.

Found the best thing to burnish and slick up a shaft.

I have some of pool dawgs shaft cleaner. I got it free from a purchase one time. I’ll give it a fresh cleaning with that and try the glove again. I have the little leather burnishers. I just feel like the heat and pressure I got by using the glove was unmatched. Really got it slicked you.

Found the best thing to burnish and slick up a shaft.

Yes I know that. I have a couple of the leather pieces to burnish with. I’m just saying that glove worked wonders. And you wear it so you could really get it heated up.

Found the best thing to burnish and slick up a shaft.

It’s a freezing day here in nebraska for the day. So I had my leather mechanixs gloves on when I came into the house. I went down to shoot for a couple hours and had my gloves sitting next to the table. After playing for awhile I let the oils in my hands accumulate of the wood shaft. Then I put...

How to put new insert into slate for rails.

It’s a table this old guy put together in the 70’s from spare parts. On the side of the slate there’s holes with a insert imbedded in there. That’s where the bolt with the washer goes into to tighten the rail. You’ll see the bolt in the picture. On three of the bolts around the table. The bolt...

How to put new insert into slate for rails.

I just bought this used table. I’m having a problem with two bolts for the rails. It seems like the insert is no longer there. Is there a way to replace this insert? And or add a new one? I was thinking about just adding and insert into the wood backing of the slate and going that route. But I...

Got my table in the house today.

In my basement which isn’t finished but it does have air return and air vents installed since I’m going to be finishing it. But I used bondo, I read a post on here and therealkingcobra was talking about bondo being the best. I put a piece of paper over the bolts before applying bondo inside them.
