It's just whoever gets to it first and the other guy has to go in the other pocket.

What to do with my Brazilian rosewood???

Thanks Dave, and to all the rest of you for your input. Dave, I sent you an email. When I picked the blocks up a year or so ago I brought them to a friend who is a guitar builder and a very skilled luthier, who I would say knows his woods. He took a look at them and upon some examination and a...

What to do with my Brazilian rosewood???

Apologies in advance for the length of this post. I guess maybe this is just the same as a "who makes the best cue" thread, but I'm just throwing this out there to see if AZ has any thoughts on the matter that have not yet occurred to me. I have two 2x2 inch blocks of Brazilian rosewood I...

Cue specs- 9 ball, 8 ball, straight pool, One Pocket, snooker, billirds

I only play one pocket and nine ball and nowadays I only play with one cue. 60 inches, wrapless, 12.7mm shaft. For me personally, the more potential variance in my game (e.g. different cues, tables, switching from measle ball to red circle ball, etc.) the worse I play. So I just keep things as...

Kickin' Chicken -- What happened to the Ivory/SBE thread?

If it's regarding the same warning that popped up on Facebook, it's the guy who used to post as Seaglass something on here. He doesn't post here anymore, and to be frank I don't think anyone misses him. He now has his own Facebook cue sales group, which I briefly joined and then left because I...

    Best breaker?

I have a sub-18oz jacoby edge breaker and I stopped looking for break cues when I found it. Not necessarily the best for everyone, but I'd say the best for me.

    Question for Casual Players

My home room charges $6/hr and I normally just play until I don't feel like playing anymore. They also do a 100/month membership where pool is free until 8PM, at which point it's $3/hr. I typically buy the membership, as all it takes is a couple of days a week for it to be worth it.

Is Elforyn The Best Ivory Substitute vs. Juma, LBM, Micarta, etc.?

I personally am a big fan of Elforyn. Similar grain to ivory, polishes up okay and is easier to clean than other man-made materials, and most importantly plays well. I experienced less squirt than ivory (which is a positive for me) as well as a slightly more brittle hit (which is a negative for...

    Thoughts on cue purchase

+1 for Schmelke. I'd also throw Lucasi in there if you can find one for that. They play great.

lets talk about the cue youll never sell or trade

I guess I'm not really all that attached to my cues. I cringe a little selling ones that I really like to play with, but I've never really missed one that I've sold once it was gone. I spent plenty of money on my player and waited close to a year for it, but I'd happily sell it if someone...

What's in your JB Case? - WIN A CASE.

Here's my setup: The case is a JB 2x4 leather Mason with a little bit of tooling on the pockets. It's rare you can get exactly what you want and I'm really happy with this case. Cues are my Tascarella and a Jacoby Edge break cue. And the excess crap is: a pair of joint protectors I don't...

    Travel cue?

I used to keep an old Dufferin phantom cue in the car, the original style with the pin in the shaft. Those are really good cues and you can pick them up for less than a hundred bucks if you're vigilant. I would use it if I was going to play in a bar tournament or if I happened to be out without...

    Cue refinish

I wondered about this for my Tad. Seems like some people would definitely avoid if Scot did that refinish rather than Fred, wouldn't y'all think?
