I'm confused, it says this thread was bumped today but it doesn't look like anyone has replied to it since JB in '14.

For those that play with custom cues

You can and will get used to anything. Try it and if you don't like it, sell it and give a different maker a try. The nice thing about custom cues is if you get the right person to build it, it's not like a car where you lose a lot of value the moment you drive off the lot. It should be fairly...

Race to 100 betting $20,000 of your own money. Who would you pick??

Since this we're dealing in hypotheticals and fantasies, can it be anyone from any time in history? If so, Harold Worst or 1980's Jose Parica.

Trouble getting butts out of case Question

Seems you could just screw the shaft on while the butt is still in the case, no? Once you've screwed in a couple of threads the butt should come right out.

    Changing southwest cue weight

+1 for this. I shot with a Bobby Hunter cue once that was 60 inches and 21 ounces and it played like it was 18oz. Same with Richard Harris cues as well, he made a lot of heavy cues and they're all so well balanced it doesn't matter.

    The Greatest Greatest

Yeah you're right, it's way dumber than arguing about who's better at poking at a ball with a stick. Anyways, I'm the guy that started this off with Jones. I believe he could be the all time great in the sport because when he first started in MMA the LHW division was full of buzzsaws and he...

    The Greatest Greatest

Well to start, that's assuming Jones is done, which I'm not - he'll be back in July and I imagine he'll go on another run. I'll give you that his division shallow now, but when he started light heavyweight was still a stacked division and it's only dried out in the last couple of years. And it...

    The Greatest Greatest

Just to add one in there, I'll say Jon Jones in MMA. He's lost one fight and it was by disqualification due to illegal elbows while he was beating a guy up, so to anyone with a brain he is undefeated in 23 fights (and this isn't boxing with big gloves - the margin for error is much lower, and...

    Help finding a builder

From what I gather, he's had some issues on the Facebook group sites, particularly with the mods on the Open Billiard Market. I take all that with a grain of salt because honestly, a few of the mods on those sites strike me as a little drunk on power and I've seen what I would consider personal...

    Cue Help for a Novice

You can find an excellent used custom sneaky pete for 300 dollars. If you wait for the right deal you can get one from Leon Sly, Bob Frey, Pat Diveney, and a host of other great makers for not all that much more than that. Brand new, I'd say get a Pechauer, Lucasi (if you don't mind China-made)...
