Ferrule vs. ferrule less, vault plates etc.

I would say it all depends on quite a lot of variables. As usual the starting point to consider what is the main goal to achieve using a certain construction, materials and so on...what are your preferences. When I started to build my player a few years ago when it comes to the shaft I knew I...

My first win against a world champion - sorting thoughts

Such threads, themes are really great and very useful read. I've really enjoyed reading your great story so as other posts of yours. Very informative, useful and inspirational for learning. Thank you for sharing and I wish you to have more great memories ahead. BTW here is a nice match with...

    Filler at 13

That video refreshed some good memories about that EC in Luxemburg. I had really enjoyed the time there as a coach together with a junior. Quite a lot of talents, interesting matches. If I remember correctly that EC for youth was the last for such generation of players as Mario He, Max Lechner...

    𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗨𝗦𝗔

We were at this discussion so many times...well I hope at least we'll see the better team at a specific moment in time in these specific circumstances at this year's MC if it takes place).

    Help buying first cue

First of all welcome to the forum. What is really surprising for me that somebody who has been playing since he was a kid having several tables at the family still does not have his own cue. Well at least I hope you already know your preferences when it comes to what feels good in your hands. I...

    𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗨𝗦𝗔

As it was already mentioned such choice might be a good "investment" for the future though I was surprised a bit. At the same time it really could be a good motivation for Styer. At least it worked impressively for Filler and Gorst who were not picked at the time but won at the WPC 9-ball just...

    Viking joins Carbon “fever”

All I can say I'll be surprised to see a lot of reviews on this. Just ridiculous... Tested some most popular cf shafts ...I've built cf shafts for myself and a student lately. First I liked them having some fun till I finished a new playing cue with LD solid maple shaft a month ago. I enjoy it...

    Nothing fancy...built to play with.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm just a hobbyst who is still learning by doing. My experience tells me whatever you do it is not only about what to use but even more important how to use it. Depending on the woods used, color combinations some "tricks" might be needed. That cue on the right with...

    Nothing fancy...built to play with.

Had fun getting some new experience for me. Love the way some great woods feel and play giving you enough space to create what you want. Thank you very much, maestro:).

    Nothing fancy...built to play with.

Just a few players built lately. Two for the customers and one for myself.

    Check out this draw stroke

De Luna's power draw from the one to the three ball also in his first rack in his match vs. Shaw not so long ago was the most impressive shot I've seen lately (in spite of the fact it was on a 9ft table...ihmo).

Better example of the beauty of African blackwood. This log is 1967 y. and motivates me to enjoy it in some nice cues one day;).

Don't know if this wood was ever used in a cue...amazingly rare and so far it is the hardest wood I worked with but it was worth it. Pau Santo (Brazilian blackheart) forearm and buttsleeve & Satinwood handle.

    McDermott Defy

I don't know if McDermott has its pro-team sponsored...if not that could be one of the reasons.

    Snooker CF

I think Ronnie gave the best answer in his post-match interview yesterday about what does really matter. It is all about cue action .
