Darren Appleton Video: "Banned! My Story"

A warning is all he deserved. Darren Appleton carrys himself better than most pros. He is a stand-up guy on and off the table. I wish he was in a position to tell them to shove it.

Carbon Fiber Shafts should be Banned

IMO, pretty much any game is OK if played on big tables. 8 ball is about the only game I consider good for a barbox, due to congestion. Anyone that knows me knows that I despise a barbox and jump cues. Listening to me talk one would think I could play a little.... lol .... but truth be told I...

Carbon Fiber Shafts should be Banned

If you want to ban something ..... ban barbox 9 ball and jump cues. On top of that, set an industry standard for table and pocket size, cloth etc.... but, let people play with whatever cue they choose to as long as it doesn't break current weight and length rules.

Every SW pacifier cue that I've played with hit as well as their highest price cues. They are great players. Good luck with sale

Did SW not put any identification symbols on the cue at all? I've seen pacifier cues from sw that had identification on them. Thanks

    14.1 Hail Mary Shots

I agree. Selling out every other shot ruins 14.1 matches. Same way in 1hole. Nobody wants to watch players sell out time after time.

Update on forward balanced cue questions...

Dennis O told me he played with a 56" one piece cue as a teenager. He said that cue played better than any other cue he has used since. I ask him why didn't he have another made like it. He said..."I didn't have that one made. It was a house cue that had been broke during a bar fight". I...

A-joint is between the forearm and handle. All cues do not have a-joints.

Update on forward balanced cue questions...

Average player back then was between 5' 4" and 5' 6" with a ~6' tall player here and there. Today the average (American) player is between 5' 8" and 6'. The difference in height alone is good reason for custom and production cue makers to be more open to providing a way to move the bal point...

Update on forward balanced cue questions...

I'm in agreement with your statement. 100%. Thing is, most custom cues are NOT truly custom. My meaning: I ask a HOF maker to make me a cue a while back. He agreed. Well, when I ask him to make it at a particular spec.... he said no. Most cue makers are the same way. That's one reason I...

Update on forward balanced cue questions...

Your height and wing pucks your balance point that works best. Having said that, if a person plays years and years with cues that are improperly balanced for them....... well, they will adjust to that improper bal point. Then if they try a cue that has a better bal point for their height... it...

Update on forward balanced cue questions...

It would be hard to find a Diviney cue that did not play well. His cues are great players. And yes, in my experience Diviney cues are normally more neutral balanced. I like a neutral bal cue as long as it isn't to light and is 18.75 oz to 19.5 oz at 58" or 59".... but no longer. Any longer and...

trouble seeing the tip with the bridge

Play better position....Just kidding I would get a clear bridge and try the red dot thing as long as the dot don't mess you up on other shots.

Update on forward balanced cue questions...

I've got a buddy that is 5' 1" tall and has a wing span of only 59". Well, if he tries to play with a cue that is 58" with a balance point of anything less than 19" inches from butt cap.... he can't use an open bridge on any shot. The cue will not stay down because his grip hand is so close to...

Update on forward balanced cue questions...

Yep. In general, the balance point should be "x" inches in front of the grip hand while in stance. There are some that like the bal point to be even or behind their grip hand. Those same players usually don't do well off the rail or shooting over balls. There are exceptions, but I believe that...

Update on forward balanced cue questions...

Hu, I've enjoyed hearing that story through PM. I always enjoy hearing your experiences in pool as well as other areas. I agree, what feels best may not be what is best. Hard to tell though....

Your suggestion is not a bad one. Yes, there are way more potential buyers at the SBE. Having said that, its not because of a lack of people with the money. There are plenty AZB members that can afford the cue. A more accurate statement would be: The SBE will have more people that are...

    14.1 Hail Mary Shots

I know this is an older thread, but here goes my opinion: Pros back then shot safe more often than today's pros....yep. But, today's pros as you mentioned, "don't like giving the table up".... Thing is, the pros from yesteryear didn't look at safes as "giving the table up". They looked at...
