Who is known to make the most forward balanced cue "butt"??

Happy Easter to you too sir. My back is holding thus far. Last couple surgeries helped it seems..... time will tell. As for your advice... it's always spot on. AZB has some really great folks and you are definitely one of them. I just sent a cue butt to a local cue guy. I'm hoping it turns...

Who is known to make the most forward balanced cue "butt"??

Hey buddy. Long time no talk. I hope you have been well and have been able to play regular. Great minds think alike. I sent a cheap cue butt to experiment with. It already has a steel collar, but the pin was a tiny pechauer speed joint. Cue guy is removing the pin, threading a couple small...

Who is known to make the most forward balanced cue "butt"??

I thought about buying a Rogue shaft to go with the jp butt. Problem was I could find a Rogue to try. I had nothing but reviews to go on and the reviews were all over the place. Some said the Rogue was very low deflection. Others said it was low, but not as low as a revo. Then again, others...

Who is known to make the most forward balanced cue "butt"??

It's wood to wood radial. It's a predator roadline le5. I actually sent a pechauer butt to a local cue maker a couple days ago. He is removing the pechauer speed joint and adding a steel radial. After he removes the speed joint, he is drilling and threading a couple of small weight bolts into...

Who is known to make the most forward balanced cue "butt"??

The three original wood shafts weighed 4.2, 4.4 and 4.5 ounces. The butt weighed 14.5 ounces with no weight bolt. When butt was paired with the 4.5 oz shaft, the cue was 58" long, it weighed 19 oz, the balance point was 20.25" from butt end and had an AMAZING feel that suited me to a "t"...

Who is known to make the most forward balanced cue "butt"??

I'm curious, who makes forward balanced cue "butt"? It can be production or full custom. Most of the shafts I use are 3.5 oz to 3.8 oz. They are carbon fiber shafts. Before going to carbon fiber I was use to shafts that weighed 4.3ish to 4.6ish range. With the lighter carbon shafts the cues'...

Jayson Shaw’s World Record 714 High Run Video

I agree that $60 is a good price point and yes.... the cloth and COA was out there. Then again, there are a lot of "out there" people, so they may sell lots of scrap cloth. As for the price, I'm not concerned if the price $125, $60 or $225. What I'm more concerned with is the format and how I...

Jayson Shaw’s World Record 714 High Run Video

I too see things that are in "my opinion" extremely overpriced and/or out of my financial comfort zone. Having said that, ever now and then I may ask the seller if they are willing to reduce the price or even negotiate some other part of the deal such as add another shaft, throw in overnight...

Jayson Shaw’s World Record 714 High Run Video

If I wanted to see it that bad, I would just spend the cash and buy it.... done deal. After all... it's not that much cash. I do however understand your points as they are all valid. I too like to use videos as training aids and you are 100% correct about it being a pain to use most dvds as...

Jayson Shaw’s World Record 714 High Run Video

A "group" of people at a room close to me are planning on buying the dvd and then making copies of it. From my understanding they aren't gonna sell copies. From my understanding they are just gonna buy one copy and then make 10ish copies so each one will have a dvd. That is the reason John was...

Best 14:1 Player Ever-John Schmidt or Willie Mosconi?

Yeah, but what if Ralph and Willie had a love child? I bet their love child would be spotting Ralf and Willie 2,000 balls in a race to 125. Seriously though, just imagine a player today that had the best qualities of Willie and Ralf all rolled up in one player. He/she would for certain be...

Best 14:1 Player Ever-John Schmidt or Willie Mosconi?

Willie had the potential to run 1,200 to 1,500 balls when he was in his highest gear. IMO, when Willie was in his highest gear, he probably would have made so many balls that he would have ended up missing simply due to physical exhaustion. BTW, and on the 714 table/conditions......lol...

    Jayson Shaw's 714 package options

First off..... I'm just curious to what others think. I'm fully aware that Jayson has the right to offer his product in any form he chooses. Having said that, when John Schmidt ran the 626 and then started to charge for private viewing lots of people made comments about the price of the viewing...

    Questions about Keith Josey shafts.

I've played 11.8mm shafts on a josey and it played extremely well. Then again, the 11.8 shaft was a carbon fiber shaft and was much stiffer than most any wooden shaft of any size. The reason I started this thread was because I love the feel, sound and feedback of quality wood shafts, but I...

    Questions about Keith Josey shafts.

I was able to get with Sherri and she told me I would be better off going with another cue maker. The reason she said that was because I told her I preferred shafts that were in the LD range of a predator z3 or revo. She told me I would probably not be satisfied with the zero shaft because it...

    Inflation killing you yet?

Unfortunately, pool cues are not high on the "necessity" list for "most", but fortunately there are probably enough people like myself that are willing/able to pay extra for luxury items during times of high inflation. I'm sure you and all the other cue makers will be just fine.

    Inflation killing you yet?

Inflation effects everyone and every business to varying degrees. Some have increases of 10 to 20% as you noted while others are facing ~40% increases or close down.

    Cue joints and pins

In your experience, which cue companies make piloted jointed cues that completely seat to make a true compression joint? I've heard that most cue companies make their pilots "float" inside the sleeve instead of actually making a true compression fit. Thanks for your time. Jeff

    Questions about Keith Josey shafts.

I like getting reviews from players, as well as the makers. Plus the Josey cue I'm looking at is used and I don't want to waste Josey's time asking questions. Now that is clear, do you play with Josey equipment? If so, what's your experience?
