Where are you getting your thick veneers from? I've purchased some .5mm sheets from B&B rare woods, but their 1mm selection is a bit limited on colors. Working on glueing them up, but would rather get some thicker sheets to start off..

I'm still just poking along at a snails pace watching the wood blanks move (warp) before my eyes... 😆 Have my gun drills now and working on getting them set up to core a 25" long piece of cocobola that I've turned down to 1.3" . Will be a stepped core. One heavy chunk of wood thats for sure...

Wouldn't an ash shaft be better for a whippy shaft??

Not sure what your asking.. But my personal thoughts are to cut your teeth on some cheaper wood first to build your skills up. There's lots and lots to learn thats for certain.

Lol. Yea. Hate to go cutting it up and have it not look right. It is supposed to be for veneers on the points of the one cue which will be pink ivory..

I have a slab of it. But I'm afraid the grain pattern won't be quite right.. I see other ivory substitutes out there, but they either do not have grain, or they are darker colored.
