WNT Florida Open: New Cloth Color?

I just noticed the new WNT TV platform lacks multi-table viewing. I would imagine that it will be added back soon, but it's a very nice feature to have. WNT TV did add a live chat option, but it's not something I typically bother with.

I watched the final last night. Krause was superb during the event and looked great ahead of the final. Yet he and Kledio started out slow. They both missed makeable shots and positioning. Kaci settled down first, and got in a groove midway through the match. Great fundamentals, hardly any...

WNT Florida Open: New Cloth Color?

Yep. We no longer have to wait for the streams to be posted hours later or the next day. It's all right there. Still some little things I would like to see improved upon, but now viewers have full control over what they watch and when.

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

True. That's where the mental game is so important. Thinking, as in any sport, on the next shot or the next play and relying on your fundamentals. Easier to say than do ...

I thought SVB looked very rusty and closer to his age at first. Eventually he found a groove. McBride virtually handed the match to SVB, though, with some big misses on shots he should have pocketed.

I think it is better to speed up the play to get to the top players playing each other in the later rounds. More fan friendly to me. As I mentioned in another post, there are 43 of the top 100 Fargo-rated players in Florida. Almost all should make it to the final 64 given the new structure of...

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

Some 238 players showed up to play yesterday. That compared to 249 in last year's inaugural Florida Open. Under ideal conditions, these open majors normally would draw 256 players. Most fall a bit short. The U.S. Open had 255 players last year show up. This year, the UK Open had 252 players...

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

Seems like a good idea, Bob, for precisely that reason. Some top players could get a notably tougher path than others. Realistically, though, anyone not seeded is going to be well outside the top 100 in Fargo.

Wow. The new "king," Aloysius Yapp, loses his first match to BJ Ussery, 9-5, to go to the loser's side. I am surprised Yapp got an opponent of Ussery's caliber (Fargo 768) in the first round. Filler is playing some guy named Vishwanath Reddy Saikam (Fargo 675). Also, Naoyuki Oi also lost his...

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

I counted 245 players listed. Tons of American players of lower rank. Strong field at the top. There are 43 of the top 100 Fargo players in the world at the event. And 24 of the top 50 Fargo players. Of the top 50 Fargos, only 33 regularly travel to big events around the world. So in reality...

WNT Florida Open: New Cloth Color?

All the tables, including the main one, are gray. The CPBA gray is somewhat different than Simonis. I like it better. I am astonished so many people thought she was serious. No way, no how, MR was going to go pink. Hah! BTW, Matchroom moved to a new platform with WNT.TV. It is much, much...

Teutscher keeps getting better. Not leaps and bounds but steadily. Great jumper, much to my surprise. He made a handful of great jump shots to beat Fedor and come from behind vs Manas. Small sample size, he could be top 10 in that category from what I’ve seen Still doesn’t persuade me at...

Again, thin margins. Just takes a few errant strokes with winner break. Fedor had multiple chances. So did Filler, FSR … I didn’t see E. Kaci. Still got heavy hitters. Everyone has 800 Fargo except Krause and AJ Manas. They will top 800 soon.

Bergman’s break was awful, but good Styer gave way to bad Styer mid match to keep it competitive. Big Mosconi statement for Tyler in the end. Look at the stats of Filler-Duong. You’d never guess Duong won. Still, goes to show how thin the margin for error is thin among the top players. Duong...

I watched most of the Alcaide-Bergman match. Slow, indeed. I paused the vid, let play go on, then caught up using FF to skip thru the in-betweens. Always the way to go. Anyway, lot of cat-and-mouse in this match. Two great safety players. Bergman got the edge in the end. interesting to watch...

Two fundamentals of pool to avoid sounding foolish for years

I am amused by the responses to the OP. Talk about stirring up a hornet's nest! More seriously, I am always working on my stroke. It is never where I want it to be. Not long ago, Jasmine Ouschan was not satisfied with her stroke. So she shot 1,000 of the same exact shots - the X drill - to...

Got to wonder if ESPN discovered that darts might be a nice thing to have after the recent airing. Could be pool was part of the deal.

US Open and Mosconi coming to ESPN

ESPN still has 60 million subscribers in the US. Its ESPN Plus service has 25 million reportedly. And tens of millions more access ESPN in some manner or another each year. If there is one broadcast station young people, especially men, still watch at times, it's ESPN. Matchroom should focus...

US Open and Mosconi coming to ESPN

Interesting. I've long thought the Mosconi was made for TV and ESPN. Of all pool events, it's the one to most attract some casual fans or even nonfans. Just the rowdiness and nationalistic aspect of it. What would be great if is ESPN carried the first team match of the Mosconi on its main...
