Pedro: 40 pts in 8 innings!!!

yes, but when a player averages 5!......and world class speed is an average of 1.......that player demands attention. I would put that game on par with a run of 14.1 in the 400 to 500 range IMO. Or maybe a 59 in golf. G.

Pedro: 40 pts in 8 innings!!!

yup!...the first thing I thought of when I saw the 40 points in 8 innings was I hope someone has it on video! I am a new convert to 3c and the lack of coverage is causing me to consider the stream cost or availability and if I could possibly make it happen. When on any weekend I can see...

    Great stroke

IMO, like said above, timing is the key, BUT, how do you "timing" the shot :) nice grammar huh? Seriously, there are a ton of ways or styles of play that will work, but the moment of contact tip to CB and the dynamic of if the tip is accelerating or not is my point. Watch Bustamante, Deuel...

    Left Eye Dominant Pro Players

I am left handed and left eye dominant with the cue under my left eye. I had an issue with shoulder/elbow/wrist alignment, and I tried to move my body left to adjust for this. While it helped, the shot always "looked" wrong to my eye. So, I went back to my natural feeling setup, and made a...

add "nano-soft grip" to a no-wrap pool cue?

get the roll on grips that many 3c players use. I picked a 3 pack, red/black/blue for $10 on Ebay. G.

    new carom cue question

Thanx kilby! I do have a lathe here at home, and I've been doing cue work for years, but not on carom cues or wood to wood joints:) funny how different they are from pool cues. Today I am going to try to make tooling to chuck the big wood pin in my lathe. I just might try a different tip on one...

    new carom cue question

Hi guys, I just got a new Adams carom cue and this is my first rodeo with the wood pin in the shaft. It feels fine screwing together but a little "squeeky" IMO could maybe use a little wax on the male threads? Is this kosher? Besides that, the fit and finish is super, all the points are even...

    Snooker vs. Pool

I'm lucky enough to play at a room with a snooker table, a 3c table and diamonds/crowns etc. plus a 9'er in the basement. Pool and snooker to me use the same mechanics, and until I absorbed some of the snooker discipline into my game I had HUGE holes in my technique for both games.....mostly...

    Pool cue vs. Carom Cue

Hi guys, I'm an accomplished pool player, but somewhat new to 3c. My friend Jimmy who owns Classic billiards here in south eastern Pa. just installed a Gabriels Kronos, and I can finally put in some hours playing this awesome game. I have a 10' gold crown 3c table in storage here at home...

    Gabriel Kronos in Phoenixville, PA

O.K. so no one told me that 3 cushion is about as addicting as p-nut m-n-m's! I predict that once everyone gets over the "I don't know how" phase of the carom table......the line will be long waiting to play. have fun, Gerry

    Gabriel Kronos in Phoenixville, PA

What a SUPER table! I hit some balls on it yesterday and the build of that beast of a table is outstanding! I'm sure the light will be in soon, and the heater had it just about up to temp last night. Stop in and check it out, you will not find a better set up. 10' Snooker, Gabriels 3c, Diamond...

Is Getting On A Good Break Ball in 14.1

Some of my thoughts have changed over the years on 14.1. Partly from equipment, and mostly from watching great players who are not known for 14.1 run tons of balls......ala Johnny Archer back in the day!!! or Earl. What I mean is this>>> the weaker you are at pocketing/cue ball control....the...

Room Size needed for a 10ftr and pros and cons of owning one

I personally would go for the 10. When I used to play daily on a 12foot snooker table, then go to the 9 footer, it was a joke. The 9 seemed like a toy, and no shot seemed long. I have a gc 9 footer at home, AND I have a 10foot GC 3c table waiting to be assembled sitting next to it!!!! I havn't...

    How much is improving worth?

Playing rotation games IMO makes it tough to handicap players.....not a big enough variation between levels. NOW....14.1 will tell you very simply how good a player is. To say a player is a 50 ball runner tells me exactly what kind of thing to expect when I play them. A 100 ball runner is a...

    Annual National Amateur Championships

How would you confirm status as an amateur? I am no Pro, but I have won some $$$ over the years.....that, and there are VERY few people who make a living at pool here in the U.S., so to call someone a professional is tough has well. Or how about a player who said they are a Pro, but never made...

US Bans sale of all ivory across state lines

Maybe we can start inlaying really good pot into cues? testing for authenticity is much more fun! anyway, I was putting all my elephant tusks in the attic so I wouldny get busted and tripped over my seal fur coat and ripped my alligator short shorts spilling my black rhino horn tea all over my...
