    Carbon Butts?

Aluminum bats fundamentally change the game of baseball, dramatically increasing offensive levels. CF vs wood shafts is merely personal preference.

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

The early rounds of major tournaments have always been a snoozefest of 9-1 type scores. Reducing the number of seeded slots makes watching the early matches much more viable.

Classic Billiards - FL Open prep

I think that's accurate. "Sponsor obligation." Fedor is sponsored by the APA.

    Pia Filler hates wood shafts

There's also freeing up the mental real estate and not worrying about your cue. I can move balls around with the cue without being dainty, worrying about it, and still checking it later. If the cue gets knocked over, no concern. And that's in addition to less general maintenance, less worrying...

    WPA Women’s 10-Ball World Championship

Tangential question: who's the best female jumper? Savannah has to be up there. It is one of her strongest areas.

WNT Florida Open: New Cloth Color?

Tennis doesn't use blue colored balls. For me, both the 2 and sometimes the 10 can lose their edges a bit on the tournament blue cloth. Really, any of the darker colors can be problematic at times, especially under substandard bar lighting. Lighter cloth colors provide much better contrast...

WNT Florida Open: New Cloth Color?

I'll have to see it in action first to judge. I'm a big fan of the grey. Best color for contrast with all the balls.

Where are all the CF butts?

Yeah I can see the CF butts being easier to specify various parameters across a product line, but custom designing them I'd have to imagine would be expensive. I played with a Cynergy Truewood for years. I recently switched to the Cynergy X. Hit is largely the same. Maybe the X is slightly...

Thanks. The post I quoted said "Sept 31," a date that doesn't exist, hence the question.

    TX Hold'm Pool Game

Might be a fun game, but the motivating premise underlying your argument is false. A typical player can always beat a much stronger player with weight. That's why handicapped tournaments and leagues have gotten so popular. This is just another attempt at leveling the field, but without (at...

Heck, not just the ref, but the  players should know better. Particularly Oscar.

Strong final 16 at the women 8ball World champ

On the women's side it's ok because there are fewer break and runs and so a little more uncertainty with every shot and decision, more misses, more back-and-forth, and therefore a little more excitement. On the men's side it's still pretty boring.

WPA Women’s 8 Ball Final - Foul Call

If you listen after the call, Jasmin says "they just looked at it and looked at it and looked at it..." so my interpretation is they looked at that angle multiple times. So they'd have to go with the ref's initial call, and he was in the best position of anyone to make the call. Obviously refs...

Strong final 16 at the women 8ball World champ

Yeah, the missed open 8 earlier is looming large. The foul she just committed at 6-6 was from a lack of patience. She should have regrouped, chose another shot, and figured out a way to get on the correct side of that ball later in the rack. Kelly is in the driver's seat.

    Comebacks by Savannah

If Savannah isn't practicing enough, it's probably due to playing competitively too much. Her game has definitely improved by light years in the last couple years. She definitely has an uphill battle with Kelly and then Chezka. At best 20% for each match, so 4% to nab the title. I'm rooting...

Stats -- Justin Bergman vs. Tom Cousins 8-Ball Race to 30 on a 7-Foot Table, July 2026

And 87% of games ended after one inning. That is a free-throw shooting contest at this level.

    Justin Bergman vs Tom Cousins

I promise you, barbox 8b is not too easy for me. But I'm not too stupid to see that barbox 8b for world-class caliber players is a joke. The percentage of one-inning games will probably be over 80%, might be over 90%.
  20. Rocket354

    Justin Bergman vs Tom Cousins

I think Bergman is clearly the better player. Barbox 8b though is a great equalizer, as the bar is low enough that run-of-the-mill strong players can still look world class. Anyone can win this match. But if they played it 100 times (so 3000+ racks) there would be clear results in the favor of JB.
