I hear you on certain shots. But to me this was slow enough that a well positioned ref should have been table to see if the CB got the rail. Next time Dr Dave can have Bob J or someone else try to make the call live.

The pockets play okay with brand new cloth on shots down the rail. The shot into the mouth of the pocket isn’t that much easier with new cloth (yeah a few will wiggle in).

I would say this is far more common than not. From the many matches I’ve watched (both live and in person), when a high amateur or semi pro player is beating a top pro, it is very hard for them to avoid the “OMG, I’m about to beat SVB! Just 2 more racks”. Once they think that, they are dead.

I would check on which shafts you are looking for, because I expect the major brands would offer a 3/8-10 modified. Cuetec does for example. Others, like Whyte Carbon, make their insert so it fits both the original and modified.

So what do you use to bore out the threads on a lathe? I was assuming one would do that with a tap, but apparently not.

That’s what I would have assumed, but he said “shouldn’t need to tap it”. If you’re boring it out with a tap aren’t you tapping it? Or is there some distinction I’m missing?
