    DCC carbon-fiber/wood shaft usage ratio....?

It’s like that for virtually all cf products. Except for prototypes, almost all bike frames, tennis racquets, golf club shafts, cross country poles come from a very few Chinese and Taiwanese manufacturers. Highly automated so little labor, but a big advantage over US and EU is that they can...

Tigers Cf shaft. Anyone used it

Agree with garczar. Cf has a specific gravity of about 2, so a solid tube would weigh in at about 8 oz. More likely a cf tube filled with light structural foam, so that the uninitiated might think it is solid.

    DCC carbon-fiber/wood shaft usage ratio....?

Yup. Like any other sport, for the producers it’s all about the money.

    Market Predictions

Yup. Just shelled $3 the other day at a thrift shop for a really nice Timex Indiglo to replace my old beach watch. Uses 2016s that cost $5 for strip of 5 Sonys at the big rainforest website. Push the button and you can read it at night. Keeps pretty good time too. Now back to our regularly...

    Market Predictions

My opinion, which is of course an educated guess, but still an opinion . . . Portions of the market highly dependent on labor or limited material resources (like high quality wood billets or tropical hardwoods) will probably remain high, but are at the same time subject to demand saturation...

    OB cues shut down?

Thanks. I had not intended that to be offensive or direct it at anyone. My point was that there may be a market to be made by configuring cues for players of different sizes, strengths or abilities, as is often done in other sports.

    OB cues shut down?

What a concept. Different sizes for different folks. Kind of like tennis, golf, baseball, hockey, or essentially any other sport where the player uses a tool to contact a another object. Yet we expect one size fits all to be the standard, kind of like Soviet era suits.

SCAM ALERT on # TEAM XLRB CARBON FIBER CUE SHAFTS / MATTHEW BARGERSTOCK OF CARMICHAEL, PA.

A warning sign I look at is payment by Venmo or Zelle and not wanting to be paid by Paypal. I’ve had Paypal go to bat for me on one scam where they gave me an immediate refund (like before I hung up the phone) and sent the scam information to the FBI. Good luck seeing that from Venmo or Zelle.

    Playing characteristics of shaft wood

FunChamp gives us another example of why carbon fiber will dominate the market, and probably sooner than we might think. If that wood shaft was so good, why aren’t all shafts just like it? Well, because there is enough variability in the wood that they can’t all be like that. With carbon fiber...

    OB cues shut down?

I believe your observations apply to many sports and equipment lines. There are the old adages that the best equipment won’t make a bad player better, and that the best players can play well on poor equipment, but there is a whole continuum in the middle where competent players can take...

HELP—if you can—Hopefully this is the last time I will have to sell anything due to Medical Expenses. POSTING LOTS OF POOL AND BILLIARD RELATED ITEMS

Just got back from visiting Mike. This is a genuinely good guy who is making the very best he can of a bad deal. I don’t think I’ve run into anyone in a long time who is as passionate and knowledgeable about the game and its equipment. You won’t go wrong with anything you get from him. Let’s...

Acedonkey: do you have any butt only, no shaft cues? What are the characteristics and pin sizes? Thanks

HELP—if you can—Hopefully this is the last time I will have to sell anything due to Medical Expenses. POSTING LOTS OF POOL AND BILLIARD RELATED ITEMS

I had exactly the opposite reaction when I had a bad transaction on the internet and paid with Paypal. I had a real person on the phone within a minute of calling. When I hung up a half hour later the money was already back in my Paypal account and they had forwarded my transaction details on...

Have you used carbon fiber and went back to wood?

I agree with the rounded edge. I‘ve been experimenting with this and found I can get further out on the cue ball for english and draws, especially with a softer tip and the newer engineered chalks. I actually try to go to the radius of half the tip diameter so that the edge is tangential to the...

I believe Marini is correct. Dr Dave does a review of Whyte and shows how easy it is to change inserts and uses the same tool shown by OB And Spartan. Pooldawg carries the Spartan inserts for $69 each.
