Don't wax the balls unless you plan thoroughly buffing the wax off, over time it'll turn the cloth and rails and slight hint of yellow but eh cloth will become shiny slick. A local pool hall near me washes their balls with a cleaning compound containing a wax and do not wipe he off afterwards...

Why spend all that money on a custom cue to throw a predator shaft on it? Just buy a cheap lucasi or something that already has a uniloc joint

Keith Josey's maple shafts have a great hit, feel, and sound. His basic cues are pretty affordable as well. The old McDermott D series maple shafts play nicely as well, nice long taper but still hit nice and stiff, I get the best force follow with inside from these shafts. I also left one in...

Meh, probably a little less deflection with the OB imo, it's negatable though. You can't go wrong either way

Gorgeous cue, that's birdseye bubinga is gnarly. Almost looks like alligator skin, as if it had been salvaged from a shallow river or lake.
