Such a stupid thread, the only relation the two share is the term "shooting." Shooting rifles is easy, as long as you hold the gun steadily on target and pull the trigger, the gun does all the work. "Shooting" a cue ball on target takes much more skill and physical coordination... Good...

As mentioned above, hit a few real soft rollers down the table, not cue ball into object ball but just ball into rail and make sure there aren't any funny clicks or rattles. I'm sure with a schmelke you won't have to worry about anything like that but I always do that with a new cue/shaft/tip...
