I think you might enjoy this movie, Mulambo. Free to watch on YouTube...

Best GOAT moment of all time

Just a quick word on Ronnie’s fastest maximum… I think it has now been accepted as 5 minutes 8 seconds rather than the previous time of 5 minutes 20 seconds. The reason for the difference is starting the clock when he first struck the cueball instead of when it came to rest after his opponent’s...

That is what I deduced John must have meant too, sir, but find that quite surprising if true.

    2026 World Snooker Championship: April 18 - May 04

Just listening to the post match interview with John Higgins. He was talking about Ronnie still using the older brand of chalk and how it increases the chances of poor contacts (what we call kicks over here). But he also claimed that Ronnie’s chalk made the pockets play tighter. This has me...

    Twilight Zone...a game of pool

Jonathan Winters was superb in It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, more than holding his own in a truly classic movie full of legendary actors. Always been one of my favourites.

I haven’t seen that ball before either, Mr M.

I feel we are due a classic Romanique or Raschig appearing on eBay. It’s been a while. Keep your eyes peeled.

The same company was responsible for the counterfeit Louis Vuitton and Tiffany sets, both of which were offered for sale on eBay for outrageous sums… €10k in the case of the fake LVs. They are still being sold in the $500 to $600 range… and still falsely advertised as genuine. Thankfully, I was...

    2026 World Snooker Championship: April 18 - May 04

I have an accumulator bet every year on the first round… never won but did get 15 from 16 once. Just wins, of course, not correct scores!

Presumably the stick was originally perfectly cylindrical, Mr L? I guess it must have distorted under the extreme heat and pressure involved during casting.
  13. Rubik's Cube

    2026 World Snooker Championship: April 18 - May 04

I think I recall Robin Hull from Finland playing at the Crucible but could be mistaken. And maybe Alex Ursenbacher?

    Pool Ball Collecting.

I don’t have too many single balls in my collection. I might have forgotten one or two, but off the top of my head the rarest I have are probably the blue Camel, broken wheel Jack Daniels, the yellow Miller Lite, the original McDermotts or a prototype Cardball from Aramith.

    Pool Ball Collecting.

Someone could build a great pool ball collection purely on drink-related stuff.
  16. Rubik's Cube

    Pool Ball Collecting.

The Jim Beam cueball and 8 ball are great collectibles, Mr T. The originals are thirty-something years old and probably worth about $30 to $40 in nice condition.
