Is it 'normal' for the cue ball to jump off the rail on an 8' valley (or any table) when shot at reasonably normal speeds?

No, that's not normal. I don't know the first thing about table mechanics, but I've played on a million Valley tables, and I know the balls hop on shitty tables and they don't on well maintained tables.

A couple questions about Palmer Cues and older cues makers in general.

Nearly all of the prices listed on that site are below actual current market value, not above. Price guides for our niche hobby are extremely dubious, so I wouldn't pay attention to them no matter how current.

A couple questions about Palmer Cues and older cues makers in general.

The site www.palmercollector.com has a ton of great information about the Palmer brand before the import era. The "Palmer Cues - Original By Palmer" Facebook group is another great place where people post photos and information. There is a good scene of collectors for the desirable Palmer...

    Dirty Valley

Having traveled quite a bit for work, I've played on a lot of crappy valley bar tables. Adjusting to rough conditions is part of the game, but sometimes it plays a bigger role than others. I was just in Kentucky at a place called Otter Creek Tavern, which had among the worst tables I've seen...

Rhino shaft buyers, let 'er rip.......

When I play competitively, I use a Predator Revo setup, including a carbon break cue. For casual play, however, I try a lot of different cues. I recently bought a Rhino 5/16x18 break shaft for use with Meuccis, and have been impressed with its quality and performance. I chose Predator after...

Looking for Meucci Original style Joint Protectors

Hello, I'm looking for some Meucci original joint protectors, especially in the "pill" style, but also in the modern style with original script, as pictured below. I'm especially looking for some white sets, but also some black, as well. I have included pictures, attached here. If anyone has...

New here. New to forums. Yikes. Could be trouble.

Your 1st Cue, 30 Years Later

Last year I bought a cue here that was nearly identical to the first cue I had in the early 1990s. It was an Adam, heavy, very stiff, tons of deflection, 13mm hard tip, conical taper, very coarse linen wrap, with a brass joint. This one is in nearly mint condition, which is far nicer than the...

    Palmer Box Cases

I also love Palmer box cases, and I pick them up at every opportunity. What I especially would love to find is one of the Palmer "coffin" cases, the tube style cases which open laterally like a box case. I missed the chance to buy one years ago and haven't seen one since. Such an unusual...

Looking to buy box style cue case

When I posted this thread a couple years back, I got several messages and ended up with a few great cases. I've gotten a few new cues recently, and I've found myself in need of some additional storage. Anyone have any box style cases they're willing to sell?
