Craziest rack in a while...what would you do?

This is why I get frustrated with 8-ball. Sometimes the layouts can be brutal and it's tough to find any reasonable way to advance. At least in rotation the layout is equally as challenging for both players. These type of situations really slow down tournaments too.

Do you know anyone that has been banned from a pool room?

Jason "Buffalo" Hunt has been banned from countless pool halls. Reach out to him for some insight. Although, he'll probably tell you it's just bad luck...

    Shaft Stiffness and efficiency.

Why do you need to know this? Pool is a finesse game. Hitting harder isn't going to help. If anything, I'd say that 99% of players need to work on hitting the ball softer. Forget all that and just pick up a stick (any stick) and get comfortable with it. No need to worry about maximizing...

    Yapp banned from WPA tournament?

The WPA has plans to ban players from competing in non-sectioned events. We all know that "non-sanctioned events" is specifically referring to Matchroom events. However, what about all of the smaller local and regional tournaments throughout the world that don't involve Matchroom? Those are...

    Yapp banned from WPA tournament?

Sheesh, I didn't realize there were 100s of different pool federations across the globe. What do they do exactly? Are they providing any financial support for players? Which federation overseas the USA?

Anyone ever take a lesson from Tor Lowry?

Yeah, Dr. Dave's videos are as boring as can be. The material is good but the presentation is terrible. It reminds me of those old VHS science videos we were forced to watch in school.

Anyone ever take a lesson from Tor Lowry?

I fell in love with Tor's youtube content back in 2012 when I was just starting to get interested in pool but I haven't watched any of it since about 2014 or so. As a beginner there is a lot of good stuff to learn from him. As an advanced player, I don't think he would help much. His work is...

my dumbass need some help. TIA

Removing the slate is very easy to retrieve your cue. It can be done in 20 minutes or less by yourself. Slate removal: 1. Remove the small screws behind each of the rails 2. Once the screws are removed, the metal trim will come off exposing the rail bolts 3. Remove the rail bolts 4. Once the...

    Fargo Rating Algorithm Question

If you’re the top rated player in Fargo, when does the system decide to increase your rating, as opposed to decreasing everyone else’s rating? For example, Josh Filler is at 842 and Fedor Gorst is at 838. These are the two highest ratings. If Filler starts playing above his average, it seems...

How do you figure John plays better than Oscar? That match is a coin flip.

    Why not Pinegar?

All of these guys are super competitive and hate to lose. Otherwise, they would have never had the drive to become pro. To say that Pinegar hates to lose more than the other guys is nonsense. He just can't control his emotions and acts like a complete a-hole when things don't go his way...

    Why not Pinegar?

Pinegar is not the answer. Super toxic, super slow, old, not good enough in MC conditions. We obviously will stick with SVB and Skylar. For the rest of the team, we always seem to make the same mistake of picking a stagnant veteran player over an up and coming young player. Although they...

Sharks International 9 Ball Open (24-29 July), Philippines, Prize Fund $100K

You're right Jay, I didn't mean to come off as a complete Philippines hater. I'm actually the opposite for the most part. I really like the Philippines and I may retire there myself one day. However, many things are just broken or don't work right for no apparent reason which can be...

Sharks International 9 Ball Open (24-29 July), Philippines, Prize Fund $100K

From my experience in the Philippines, things very rarely ever work 100% right. No matter what it was, something was always screwed up. The power would randomly go out. The water supply would randomly run out. Almost every restaurant I went to was missing menu items. Public bathrooms in the...

Shooting Hard vs Rolling the Ball.

Not necessarily. On a surprising number of shots, I've noticed that you have the option of forcing the cue ball into position or rolling it into position.
