Are the mass production cues of today better than the mass produced cues of 30-40 years ago? Do today's factories make better cues in terms of quality and playability?

Older playing cues. Modern cues offer consistency and better adhesives along with modern construction methods like coring and LD shafts. You get a lot of cue for the money nowadays.

I would like to have the nylon wrap on my McDermott D4 changed to feel like a wrapless cue. Any help greatly appreciated.

I have both, but like the wrapless feel. I have a really nice playing McDermott D4 that has a nylon wrap. Would putting a finish on it be ok for getting rid of that slippery nylon feeling?

I have called a few places in Austin TX and have not been able to find anyone knowledgeable about pool glasses. Progressive lenses don't seem to work at all. I have switched to a 20yr old pair of aviator style big frames for better results, but could use a better lens for longer shots. Any help...

For me it's all about balance and feel. All I have to think about is the shot.

McDermott is a top notch cue maker and company. I've got a D4 that plays as good as anything and it's still straight as an arrow.
