    PLEASE READ old westinghouse micarta

Now I know we are on the same page. The "ping" is definitely there with the paper based stuff and it is quite addicting! Thanks for posting your observations! tim

    PLEASE READ old westinghouse micarta

I've been using the paper based stuff and it still plays great. No knock against the real stuff.... tim

Kamui Tip Hardness Chart..... very interesting

Now that's funny. I too had nothing but problems with Moori's glazing over, but none of the same with Wizards. Machining them is a buggar, that is for sure. Very tough tip. But to me, that's what makes them good. More spin should come at the cost of more deflection. BTW, ivory deflects...

    Before & After

Artist ??!!!!! Glen is a certifiable LOON! Anyone who would take on a job like that has got to be one. But we're all dang happy he is. Sounds like I'm staying in Tacoma during my next trip to SeaTac. tim

Kamui Tip Hardness Chart..... very interesting

Good for you. I can't stand them. I had Rich Harris take them off my BG and put on the only tip that never fails, including at the price point. Wizards. Hold chalk, easy install, no mushy hit. Kamui's were ALWAYS miscueing and they always required attention. Wizards, put them on, play with...

    Hey Guys, JD Customs?

The phillipino JD cues are long on style and very short on quality. Poor craftsmanship. Dont. YOu won't regret it. tim

The New OB Classic shaft - Test Drive - It's HOT STUFF!

Certainly very crisp hit Chris. I too, have found it better as time goes on. I still can't stand an everest tip, but that I can change as soon as I get time to order new stocks of wizard tips. From playing one hole last friday, I found a lot more draw/follow using softer strokes. Still...

The New OB Classic shaft - Test Drive - It's HOT STUFF!

Now I own or have shot with just about every LD shaft there is. I just received 2 new OB classics. I hit an old 314, followed by a G core, followed by a USS smart shaft, followed by the classic. All diffferent to a very tiny degree, but remarkably the same. Hit after that with a conventional...

Shooting Draw with LD Shaft vs. Normal Shaft

I wonder if this is why the phillipino's (and most pro's) shoot so low. I know that some of it is to arrive at the center of the ball all the time, but this sounds like a cogent explanation of their convention. Thoughts ? tim

Would anybody out there be willing to trade a "monster" Tasc or Showman for a Ginacue

You sure gone crazy! NO WAY would I let one of those go. Those cues are called one thing. RETIREMENT! tim

Opinions on the LUCASI HYBRID CUES

Let me put you out of your misery. Fit and finish is absolutely fine. You can beat the snot out of them and they do quite well. I wish some of my $1000 cues could say that! Despite having a qr joint, it hits great. The shaft is a predator, just with 8 pie pieces instead of 10. same hit...

    Lucasi Hybrid

I think you'd love it. I have one. Several in my league have them. Similar to a predator shaft. Take a look at the ebay store for Nielsen's Billiards. A beautiful black one with a break stick and case is about $280. Good deal. tim

    Great Collets -shaft -butt -joint

I use the ebay collets. Nice, but boy, they are soooo stiff. They always leave a ring on the shaft. I'd prefer the thinner plastic ones. Of course, that was until my cat decided to hide them on me. tim

    OB-1 or 314-2

Royce, I could just scream. Ugh. After going through a ferrule replacement on an USS shaft, I started thinking, "gee, wouldn't it be cool if OB put a small ferrule outside of the wood ferrule....." talk about reading my mind, tim

    Universal shaft

We just did a replacement. THere isn't that much ferrule material on the uncapped LS, so you can pretty much use whatever you'd like and be fine. We drilled out a piece of old Micarta and it works fine. Any other modern, non ivory material should do fine. tim

    chuck starkey titlist conversion

Nice to have front weight. However, I just put some weight in the back of one of Chuck's regular wood screw cues with that old style taper of his. Lights out one pocket or 14.1 cue. Just lights out. tim

    Wanted: Predator cue for 200-300

If you can find a sneaky for that price, fine. Unfortunately, second hand Predator shafts are going for $160-200, so you are up against it a bit. I would consider this. Look at the Lucasi Hybrids. Same technology. Made in the same factory in China. At Nielsen's Billiards, $280 gets you a...
