Leaning towards maple in Rosewood finish like this one. Not sure I want the Diamond engraved logo. Big fan of the brute strength of oak but its very open grained when flat sawn and I'd prefer the smoothness of maple for the rails even though its more likely to get dinged.

I'm pretty sure I can manage it. Plus what if @realkingcobra wins the lotto tomorrow? I'll be on my own. ;)

I spoke with pooldawg just now, they apologized for the snafu. Seemed surprised they even stock those cushions and a head scratcher over how the order got messed up. No worries I'll have the Brunswick Super Speed's by Thursday they are shipping them out today.

I finally found the MBS K55's for sale. It looks like Pooldawg tried to pull the old switcharoo on me. I paid them $169.95 for Brunswick Super Speeds and they shipped me cheaper $86.95 MBS cushions. That won't fly.

I ordered a set of Brunswick Super Speed cushions from Pooldawg. Here's the photo from their site. Instead Pooldawg shipped me these MBS Group Championship cushions. I'm returning these but curious if they are the same or lesser quality than the Brunswick.

Wouldn't it be easier to add 1/4" of shelf vs mucking with the rails? The pocket is still plenty large enough for the ball to drop. I could knock that out with my 3D printer.

Seems to be going fine. Seller swears he was unaware of the cracked slate, no resistance to returning the table. Did offer to fine me another set of slates but I declined.
